Cesc buying a flat in London? Why it’s time for Arsenal to strike:

Cesc-Fabregas

It was bound to happen eventually. Given Cesc Fabregas’s relatively low standing at Barcelona (currently), it was only a matter of time before rumours of a move back to Arsenal began to resurface.

For a while, Cesc Fabregas was posited as Arsenal’s great midfield hope. The man who would provide the club with midfield impetus, genuine cut-and-thrust and potential silverware.

He first arose to prominence at age 17, leading Arsenal fans to rhyme his age with ‘he’s better than Roy Keane’. His range of passing, speed of thought and ability to buy time and space for himself was a real sight to behold. Even at a young age, it was clear he’d go onto bigger and better things.

Eventually, this was the case. He left Arsenal to rejoin his boyhood club, Barcelona and the Gunner’s have been attempting to fill the void ever since.

Yes, Jack Wilshere has stepped up to do a magnificent job, but given his injury problems and the players around the young England starlet, I’d argue that the Gunners could use a player like Fabregas to pull the strings.

Though the Spaniard is clearly still talented, he’s by no means a ‘starter’ at the Nou Camp. With players like Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets running the midfield, there’s not much space for the former Arsenal player. He’s often had to make do with warming the bench alongside another ex-Gunner, Alex Song.

This has led to The Sun claiming that Barcelona could move Fabregas on this summer, to pay for a ‘big rebuilding job’.

They also suggest that Cesc has been looking into buying a £5.4m flat in London. That must be some flat!

To add further weight to their story, they provide a quote from an unnamed Barcelona source: “if an important offer for Cesc arrives we will study the situation”.

For ‘important’, read ‘big-money’. Cesc is under contract until 2016 and given his status as a Spanish international and his age (he’s still only 25-years-old), he wont come cheap.

Still, Arsenal could expect to buy him back for less than the £35m that Barca bought him for.

I’m sure he’d be welcomed back to the Emirates with open arms and would receive all the game time he could desire. If he is available, let’s hope that Arsene Wenger’s ready and waiting with an offer.

What’s your take? Should Arsenal re-tread old ground and bid for Cesc?

Would be brilliant to have a good player come back to arsenal no disrespect to the other players but cesc would revolt the midfield as Ramsey, arteta aren’t arsenal standard !!!

  • Ren Vassilliou says:

“” WHAT WAS WILL NEVER BE “” never go back to where you were before because it will never be as it was ,that moment has past ,don’t ever go back to capture time ,memories are best left alone, Fabragas is a great player but he is the past, we now need to look forward and move on…

strongly disagree with u!!! How can u say fabregas is not important to us in dat case who do u tink dat will fill d void he left behind after which he left for barca??? As for me I?????
will welcome him with open arms n if d deal goes thru den we will be bigger, better n stronger next season wit jovetic n others dat r goung to join us soon…….! ARSENAL TILL I?????
GET MARRIED, HAVE MY KIDS N ALSO DIE!!!

  • Zigzag says:

Totally agree with Ren. It won’t happen anyway, at least for time being. He may not be a starter but both Xavi and Iniesta are getting older and will need replacement. And why would Cesc be buying a flat in London where he still has his house?

  • pithon kariuki says:

he could be a good buy but the team needs goalgetters not midfielders.

  • Andre Bagz says:

Hey come on guyz, this is a guy who is still in his early 20..ies more to that he is definitely so talented, & he has played for the Gunners before…it won’t be like.. Ok ” lets try this player here $ see”…..think abt it.

would love to see him return. I dont buy into this “never go back” crap. Who’s to say it wouldn’t motivate him?
Having said that i dont think he will be making a return anytime soon.
The fllat thing. I think, has something to do with his grab a grannie girlfriend. Oh, the joy of cesc!

  • Gilly says:

Cesc has started nearly every league game this season, having a low standing in the squad is a myth although Id love him back

  • Gimiko ndege says:

welcome back cesc we are missing u even the armban is missing u

    • Alexboogeloo says:

He’s buying a flat for his missus. She’s supposed to give up the marital home (the flat in question) in her divorce settlement.
So Cesc is buying said flat so she can have her cake and eat it!
Undoubtedly she’ll have to move out when she and Cesc split up, due to her advanced years on him…..

I’m sorry but I don’t want Fabregas back. There is no denying his talent, but we need players with fight and determination. Fabregas always hung his head and showed his frustration whenever Arsenal would get behind in a game. It wasn’t a good message to send to the other players, especially as captain. I think Fabregas is at his best when he’s on a winning dominant team and spirits are high. But when the going gets tough, he just lacks steel.

    • ArseneIsYourDaddy says:

      Thank You.
Fab belongs with the spoiled prima donnas of Barca. When the going get rough, he pouts.

    • Alex papademosthini says:

  • Chilled says:

What a load of crap. Fab4 is the future of barca as iniesta and xavi are moved on.

  • sundeer says:

Would love to see him in an arsenal shirt but arsenal need isco, jovetic, capoue, and adler

  • Freeflow says:

He looks so ordinary at barcelona. Can he get back to his old arsenal-self? I doubt!

  • naftaly gachanja says:
