Remy CabellaThe award for the worst win of the season goes to Arsenal, for their stunningly bad 1-0 victory over 10-men Fulham.

We’ve all heard that 10-men can be hard to play against, but the Gunners took this to all new levels, by getting thoroughly outclassed by their London rivals.

They may not have been able to put more than two passes together, but they were able to secure a 1-0 victory. That’s 3pts that may prove vital in the race for a top four finish.

The only thing impressive about Arsenal last Saturday was the team’s defensive solidity. Arsene Wenger had his team well drilled. They chased back, threw themselves into blocks and tried to disrupt Fulham’s game as best they could. In the centre of defense, Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker where excellent.

The two defenders compliment each other, forming a Franco-Germanic pact, that’s not easy to pull apart. Yes, they have both had their detractors this season, but things seem to be coming together in the run-in.

As such, the Fulham game should speak to Arsenal’s priorities in the upcoming summer transfer window. The Gunners aren’t as bad off defensively as many think, but they do need a little more moving forward.

Arsenal have been linked to a number of attacking talents over the last couple of months. One that stands out above many of them, is Remy Cabella, due to his youth, his nationality and his potential price-tag. (Source: TalkSPORT).

The 23-year-old Frenchman was an integral part of the Montpellier side who won the Ligue 1 title last season. He’s continued to exert his influence this season (despite Montpellier’s leading man – Olivier Giroud – moving on) and has already scored 7 times. Not bad for a player of his age.

More than his goal-scoring prowess, however, he’s earned plaudits for his exquisite touch, control and dribbling ability. He’s not afraid to commit players, take people on and get into dangerous positions. He’s not too unlike Newcastle’s Hatem Ben Arfa.

There’s no talk of a price-tag just yet, but I can’t imagine that Montpellier will demand over the odds. We know that Arsenal have the money to make a deal happen. The club’s just signed a new commercial deal and will need to make some serious investments in the summer. Remy Cabella could be just the ticket.

What’s your take? Should Arsenal swoop for this Montpellier ace?

He absolutely ripped us apart when we played them in the Champions League this season. We still won but it was hard work. Cabella visibly scared the shit out of the defense. Always looked a threat although a little bit divey. He kind of reminded me of a young Robert Pires. Direct with good end product. Definitely worth pursuing him in my opinion.
