Why Manchester United should seek a cut-price deal for this £34m midfield ace:

|

Yohann-Cabaye-Newcastle-vs-Wigan-300x225Despite Newcastle’s troubles this season, they have a number of hot-properties on their books. This is something that’s sure to stand them in good stead over the coming years, whilst providing Alan Pardew with plenty of headaches when it comes to trying to keep them at the club.

Yohan Cabaye, Newcastle’s talented French midfielder is one of these very players. The 27-year-old midfield is one of the best passers of the ball in the Premier League, with his crisp, lofted passes seeming to land exactly where he wants them to, a good 95% of the time. The man has turned precision into an art form and is often the bedrock upon which Newcastle attacks are built.

Of course, there’s more to his game than spraying the ball about. He works hard, gets stuck in and looks extremely comfortable with a football at his feet. He can always use his technical ability to buy himself (and his team mates) time and space, whilst looking for the right moment to provide that killer pass.

It’s little wonder that the Frenchman has stirred up interest throughout Europe. According to TuttoMercato, both Arsenal and Manchester United ate interested in the midfielder.

The trouble? He’s believed to have a £34m release clause written into his Newcastle contract, a fee that neither club would be willing to meet. Yes, he’s a good player, but that figure is much too inflated to represent a fair valuation.

He cost the Toon just £4.8m back when they first brought him to the Premier League and the likes of Manchester United will surely hope they’ll be able to get Newcastle to lower their asking price.

After all, you get the feeling that Cabaye would fit in nicely to this United side. Sir Alex’s midfield is likely to face an overhaul over the next couple of seasons, with players like Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs finally bringing an end to their illustrious careers.

A player like Cabaye, a regular French International, could be exactly what Fergie needs to keep United competitive. Scholes’ range of passing will be difficult to replace, but in Yohan, they have somebody who’s up to the job.

If Sir Alex can talk Alan Pardew into giving the Red Devils a bargain when it comes to Cabaye, I hope that he looks to close the deal.

What’s your take? Would Yohan Cabaye be a smart addition to the Manchester United midfield?

Why would we give “the Red Devils a bargain.” If Manure want him, pay up or shut up.

  • UTD111 says:

Why on earth would United sell Yohan Cabaye?

  • jrw says:

ohhhh i sir alex calls nufc a wee club in the north east yet you hope nufc buckle to the arrogance of the great mufc and sell cabaye on the cheap. get real springs to mind. If Saf wants Cabaye then if his release clause is 34 million then 34 million it is also Cabaye will more then likely be club captain next season.

  • Munich Mag says:

Typical shit stirring from a writer who hasn’t got a clue.

  • Geordiedoonsooth says:

Rubbish Cabaye is not going anywhere unless you lot of Mancs want to pay £50m

    • Masota Madulu says:

He is shit SAF wont pay 5 m for him.

      • Porciestreet says:

there speaks an absolute to553r. Your obviously a manc and can only see one thing . If Cabaye is sh!t then the majority of your midfield are worse sh!t because Fergie wouldn’t want him otherwise. Just another piece of arrogant Manure Total Bollox. No wonder those outside your circle absolutely despise Manchester United. May be good, but full of CRAP.

<<<<<<<<<<<, this dude here was laughing when yous lost the title to ya rivals last season hope it happens again all you manc inbreeds crying at the stadium of shit loved it meself lmao 🙂

  • giimps dreevo says:

If Manure want Cabaue , his release clause is 34 mil, we sell him for 43 mil + a 30% sell on fee and additional bonuses if not………….. Do One, go and see your mates in the FA to tell us we have to as its not fair….lolololololol

  • Kevin says:

Its easy straightforward swop Van Peraie for Cabaye. Its time Manchester United were told if you want our best players then we want yours.

    • Porciestreet says:

      Correct Kevin.
I am so looking forward to the day not far away when this bunch hit the skids and the glorious empire folds like a pack of cards. And it will mark my words. It’s happened at every major club in the game and Manure will be no different.
Unfortunately, I might miss it at my age , but roll on anyway.
      Howaaaaaaaaaaaaay the Lads.

  • sid says:

Haha he’s not even worth 15 million just shows u Newcastle fans are deluded proper wee club

    • JP says:

Even if he’s ‘not worth 15 million’ it has still been a sound investment from a ‘wee club’. To get triple what you paid for a player after he’s performed brilliantly for you for two years is pretty good going. Your arrogance is pretty standard for a Manchester United fan but if you actually thought about something for once, you’d see that Cabaye is a pretty tidy player who could do a very good job for your team. I’m sure if he does sign next year you’ll change your tune and he’ll be an ‘amazing bargain who Newcastle were stupid to sell for so little’. That said, this story is a bit of a non-starter. His best mate has just joined up at the toon so I think he’s quite happy and settled

    • Porciestreet says:

      SID, YR A TOSSER.

  • Stephen says:

Harry Cloke, step away from the keyboard

  • TOONARMYELITE says:

why would we lower the price when we dont want to sell him ya numpty

  • TOONARMYELITE says:

but if yous want to pay 15 million for some1 we got a defender call williamson you lot can have for that lmao 🙂

  • TOONARMYELITE says:

<<<<<<< thinks williamson is more in your price range meself lol

  • MickC says:

Ha you can’t afford him. What a load of shit, pay off your debts first.

  • MickyC says:

What a load of shit. You can’t afford him , get your debts paid off.

  • Friendri_NUFC says:

This is without doubt one of the silliest articles I ever read. “If Sir Alex can talk Alan Pardew into giving the Red Devils a bargain when it comes to Cabaye, I hope that he looks to close the deal”. Why the heck would Pardew be willing to sell Cabaye at a bargain to Man Utd? If Jordan Henderson’s move to Liverpool cost 20 million quid, Cabaye should command a fee twice than that!

  • Jules says:

Problem with the Internet is any idiot can write an article.

  • Masota Madulu says:

Truth hurts huh? has SAF made an offer? that is the point. we have the money but he is not good enough for mufc. that you rate him so highly tells the difference there is between nufc and mufc. c’mon yo’re just a wee little club.
