The ideal £10m deal for Liverpool at this stage of the January transfer window?

Last January, before Moussa Sow made a €10m move to Fenerbahce, he was a hot property, who found himself linked to a number of Premier League clubs.

Afterall, in 2010-11, he nabbed 25 goals in 36 Ligue 1 appearances. Indeed, throughout his time with Lille, he proved himself to be a top finisher, scoring 36 goals in 76 appearances. He looked like a player who was entering his peak and it seemed clear he would move on to bigger and better things. Arsenal in particular, were thought to be interested.

In the end, he ended up in Turkey, where he has kept up a decent scoring rate. He currently has 10 goals in 27 appearances this season. Could yet another move beckon for the French striker?

Well, according to The Metro, Liverpool have ‘lodged a £10m bid’ for Moussa Sow. I can’t help but feel this is a good thing for the Reds and evidence that the club is heading in the right direction.

It’s been clear for some time now that Liverpool don’t have enough options upfront. Beyond Luis Suarez, there are very few players who carry threat for the Reds and the awesome Uruguayan is under too much pressure to perform on a weekly basis.

All season long, fans have been wondering exactly how Brendan Rodgers would attempt to rectify the situation during the January transfer window. Thus far, they can’t be all that disappointed.

They’ve signed a top young striker, in the form of Daniel Sturridge for just £12m. The 23-year-old has pace, good feet and an eye for goal. He’ll fit in nicely at Anfield and be a great foil for Luis Suarez.

But the most exciting thing about the Moussa Sow bid is that it acts as evidence that Brendan realizes there is more work to be done upfront to get Liverpool competitive again. Whether you believe Sow is the right player for Liverpool is almost beside the point, it’s just good to know that Brendan is still on the hunt!

If Fener agree to sell Moussa for just £10m, Liverpool may well have snapped up a real bargain. There’s no saying how well he’d fit into the Premier League, but he has the stature, tenacity and will-power to succeed.

With that in mind, it could be yet another smart signing from a club moving in the right direction.

What’s your take? Should Liverpool be in the market for Moussa Sow?

As a Fenerbahce fan, Liverpool has got no chance, Fenerbahce needs additional players and has no money problem, so this tranfer is nearly impossible. changing players can be the only solution on defence line or midfield with Fenerbahce .

Fenerbahce are crap, a little club, any player would leave for a giant club like my beloved Man Utd, the biggest club in the world.
