Arsenal’s embarrassing defeat to Bradford City – yes Wenger, I’m saying it, embarrassing – has to have triggered a realization in Arsene Wenger’s head.

It has to have put to bed any genuine belief he had in his team. For all the talent he’s assembled, it’s essentially an unbalanced, gutless mess.

People talk of Manchester City’s ‘lack of team spirit’. They say their team is just a bunch of over-paid prima-donnas. Well, Arsenal are worse. City play with passion and verve. They won the Premier League title last season. Arsenal, on the other hand are chokers.

So it’s Arsene Wenger’s job (or the job of the man who replaces him, should that happen) to find players this January who can help pull the Gunners out of their slump. He can’t afford to let the stagnation continue. His legacy is at risk. Should the disappointment continue, all his good years at Arsenal will start to be overshadowed.

So who can Arsenal look to this January?

I personally hope that Arsene Wenger has paid ample attention to these quotes from Athletic Bilbao striker, Fernando Llorente: “It is true that we are approaching the date when I can sign for other clubs. I’m trying to keep it so that it is something which is managed by my brother and my representatives. That leaves me to focus in my football and help my team, Athletic, and nothing else, maintain focus.

I really like the Premier League and I’ve mentioned on more than one occasion that it’s a league which appeals to me a lot. You never know. It’s one good option in terms of my future but we’ll have to wait until the end of the season to see what happens.” (Source: The Metro)

He also notes that rumours he has already signed for Juventus are untrue. So Arsene, I’d say the time’s right for you to pounce. We’ve seen the kind of spirit that Llorente has. Anybody who saw him tear apart Manchester United’s backline in last season’s Europa League can attest to that.

He’s tall, powerful and a dab hand in front of goal. Some may claim that he shares similarities to Olivier Giroud, but he’s much more technically gifted than the Frenchman. He’s got poise and grace and most importantly, scores a lot of goals.

Given that his contract will run out next summer, he’ll be available at a bargain price. With that in mind, I’d say it’s time to ready the funds.

What’s your take? Would Fernando Llorente be a smart addition for Arsenal?

A linear solution? It might work if the problem was not systemic. Suppose Lorente scores 3 goals for Arsenal against a typical EPL end of the table BOGEY TEAM and they somehow equalise, will the boys panic and start giving away possession or will they fight doggedly and score again to edge them. Remembr United agianst Reading. Powerful teams do that Real Barca, United and of course city. Man City has done so all season just when you think its a draw they score 1 and close the game out. Or they could be behind up to the 82nd minute and still win such is the height of their confidence right now. The players need to forget aristocracy and play for their survival

And I thought Arsenal coming back from 4-0 to win a cup game 7-5 showed spirit.

Even if we sign messi, ronaldo, and rooney we’ll neva win trophies. The problem is not the players, it’s the so-called prof Of economics, let him leave arsenal alone,he must go, the league changes every season but wenger neva changes, he and his style expired+dictatorship. We also don’t another old manager, we need a gunner, bould’ll do the job if given freedom to manage with his way. Wenger must go. Gunner4life.
