An ideallic swap deal for Manchester United to consider?

|

Despite having an excellent debut season at Manchester United, Javier Hernandez’s Manchester United stock now seems to be on the decline. It’s a little curious, no doubt, as it’s clear that Hernandez is a talented forward, but it’s a testament to Sir Alex Ferguson’s desire to mix it up at front, never sit still and not to let complacency slip in. The only striker he has consistently put his faith in has been Wayne Rooney.

That’s why Dimitar Berbatov left Old Trafford last summer and why Fergie was willing to snap up Robin Van Persie, in order to add an additional dimension to his already strong forward line.

Bu his decision to snap up the Dutchman from Arsenal has left Javier Hernandez in the lurch. Thus far this season, the Mexican has been used sparingly by Sir Alex and it looks like he’ll find it difficult to break back into the first team in any meaningful way. It’s a shame for a player whose movement was once considered the best in the Premier League. Nowadays, his movement is mostly limited to shifting his position on Manchester United’s bench.

Suffice to say, I’m not all that surprised that speculation about the 24-year-old’s future has gathered pace. He wont be happy with his position at United and the club may see a potential to cash in. The Daily Star claim that Sir Alex is hoping to use Hernandez as collateral in engineering a Real Madrid swap deal. They list the names Raul Albiol, Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos and Kaka as potential options.

Of that list, I’d consider Raul Albiol the best option. Kaka, given his age and that he’d be looking for his final contract, would be too costly. Albiol, on the other hand, is a versatile, capable player, who is deployed in an area that United need to strengthen.

With Rio on the wane and Nemanja Vidic constantly struggling for fitness, United could do with an established, experienced and confidence defensive mainstay. Albiol, given his experience at the Bernabeu and playing for the Spanish national team, has plenty of pedigree.

Given the fact that Albiol has been more or less overlooked by Jose Mourinho this season, he may well fancy his chances in the Premier League, particularly if Manchester United came knocking. This is a swap deal, that would make a lot of sense.

What’s your take? Would you swap Hernandez for Albiol?

Utter nonsense , we don’t really do swap deal at all, I don’t see the need to get rid of hernandez.he is always positive in his play.Never sulks, never moans, you don’t see negative body language from him.He just tries hard just because he isn’t playing much for us does not mean can’t contribute to United cause, RVP and Rooney ain’t going to play every games.
