It’s no secret that selling Robin Van Persie has left a massive void in Arsenal’s team. Yes, there’s a general air of positivity surrounding the club at the moment as a result of three clear sheets on the trot, but the truth is, there’s some reason to worry. It’s not entirely clear where the Gunners are going to get all their goals from this season.

Yes, Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski, the two newbies, are both natural goal scorers, but they’re both adapting to the Premier League. As a result, it’d be wrong of us to place too much pressure on their shoulders. You get the feeling that Giroud in particular is going to struggle. The Frenchman lacks pace and may struggle to compete with the Premier League’s versatile defenders.

One man who has caused Premier League defenders a good deal of trouble is Shanghai Shenhua’s big striker Didier Drogba. Over the years, the Drog has notched up an eye-watering amount of goals in England, whilst using his physique, power and athleticism to intimidate opponents trying to force him off the ball.

The less we say about his play-acting, however, the better.

I bring Didier Drobga up because ESPN have linked the 34-year-old to the Gunners. If Arsene Wenger could pull off this transfer, I’d consider it a masterstroke.

Shanghai Shenhua are currently a club in turmoil and it’s rumoured that their big stars, including the Drog and Nicolas Anelka may be looking for a way out. With Arsenal’s desperate need for more firepower up front, it would make sense for them to provide the exit route.

Yes, he’s getting on in age and would likely want a high wage packet, but with Drogba, you’re sure to get plenty of bang for your buck. Besides, last season proved he’s still capable of performing (even excelling) at this level. It would be quite the shame if he were to see out his remaining years in the Chinese League.

Arsene Wenger has spoken before about how he almost signed Didier Drogba before he arrived at Chelsea. Well, maybe the time’s here for him to right that wrong and bring him to the Emirates before he’s too late.

Didier Drogba could be just the January pick-up Arsenal are looking for.

What’s your take? Would Drogba be a good addition at the Emirates?

With the gae and wage? Forget about him. There are alot of talented younger players all over at a reasonable salary.

Create another one and erase this because it can’t work.

It’s not proven that RvP’s leaving has left a void in Arsenal. Your snap judgment is absurd. Arsenal are on 5 pts from 3 matches. That’s a fine start for a team with 3 attacking players learning a new system, their new teammates and a new way to play in a transitional time in the club. Arsenal are not going to sign Drogba. It’s idiotic. Stop writing nonsense just to get clicks on your little webpage.

Crazy post. Not realistic, and it’ll be a stupid move. Drog can’t play d arsenal way.
