It was recently announced that Arsenal had completed a deal with Manchester United for the sale of Robin Van Persie. .The deal is thought to have been for around £15-24mil (different sources quoting different prices).

None of us wanted Van Persie to leave this summer, especially after the way he played last season, but we all knew that he would leave eventually, whether it was now or January.  We also hoped he wouldn’t stay in this country but why would he go elsewhere? This is one of the best if not the best league in the world, it makes sense to stay here.  I’m just glad he chose United and not City.

I’m not saying I’m not bothered by him leaving, of course I am, he was thrilling to watch last season and if he had stayed at Arsenal he could have been a legend. But let’s look at the facts: We just got £24 mil for a 29-year-old player who took 7 years to show his potential, is injury prone, and literally has had one good season in his entire playing career. That’s bloody good business.  He’s certainly no Wrighty, Henry or Bergkamp either, when you look at talent like that it makes Van Persie look average.

I have to say, I am so glad this transfer is over and done with.  This has been a frustrating one for Arsenal fans, never knowing what’s going on and always being lied to.  The club need to rethink their ‘quiet’ policy and start telling the truth during transfer windows instead of dragging out the selling of our big players and insisting time and time again that they are staying. Wenger has done this a lot, but still it has happened and he recently said that he had ‘no choice’ but to sell RVP.

Despite what I say about RVP I still think our board are terrible.  I don’t know how we keep allowing them to do this to our club. We lose player after player due to their mistakes. Something has to change soon. I am actually wondering whether they’ll even reinvest the money from Robin Van Persie’s transfer into buying more players or if they’ll sit on it and count it as profit.

As one of our best players leaves this week I want to remind you that we have made some signings and spent some money and we will get through this.  We have had worse times at Arsenal and we have sold better players before and still bounced back.  Gooner Family unite once again and let’s go cheer our new boys on.

Whenever you get mad about Van Persie leaving just remember he will be playing in a picnic shirt next season!

You sound like a scorned woman 🙂 You loved him when you had him–there was no one better–but now that he’s dumped you for a better fella/club, he’s a bum…soooooooo predictable

In ikwerre tribe in Rivers State,Nigeria there’s an adage that says one who is rejected cannot reject him/herself since van pussy have rejected Arsenal we can’t help but march on.

The truth be told, 1.Arsenal has one of the best manager but mean and arrogant. 2. Wenger and the board have shown many times how disrespectful they are to the funs, Arsenal funs like any other funs have the right to be notified or told the truth. We always feel cheated every season, we always lose our best players every season without any good explanation. Can anyone tell me Arsenal is no longer fighting for honour but profit? Is our team now become a kindergaten school where u prepared kids for a good future else where? Why blame RvP,Nasri,Cole and many others who realizes Arsenal is not an ambitious club and seek title elsewhere.

I tried to read this, but all I saw was ‘Waah, waah, boo, hoo’. I have found the crying of gooners highly amusing this week, trying in vain to convince everyone that they’re not bothered, they’re better off rid of an overrated player, they got what they wanted, etc. Fact is not long ago they were saying he’s the greatest striker in the world and would never leave him, and they wouldn’t sell him to Utd for any money. Just the ramblings of bitter, tearful fans – priceless! Face it, Arsenal are a training academy, feeding the big clubs with their best players to turn a profit, winning trophies comes a distant second. Can we expect a similar article on how c**p Song was too?

I think gone are the days of unnecessary noise making in football family.if ARSENAL did what was expected of them from RVP,he wouldn`t HAVE left u for UNITED.enough is enough for WENGER`S endless promises of winning a trophy for arsenal.from reference on NASRI,CLICHY,FLAMINI,etc all left because of arsenals lack of reaching to the promise land.if u want to be like the likes of MAN UTD ,BARCA,REAL MADRID u got to dessert ur bank acoounts and stop been stingy and land the players that it takes to win a trophy. too much of ur talking n at the end u say”if not because of my young players”we would have gotten this trophy. let all arsenal fans rallky up n sack wenger at once or else u will not even CARLING CUP QUARTER FINAL in next 12 years.
Bravo to RVP for realizing his greatest mistake of joining u d lousy so called gunners,am sorry for u all, happy united fan .

I think you all care about football way too much…

  • Allan says:

Without Arsenal,RVP wouldn’t be the player he is,Wenger was so patient with him(V persie) for 7yrs due to his injury, after shinning for only 1 season he becomes big headed.

  • Allan says:

The board should sell the club to individuals who can manage it better so as pay players high wages, coz u realise the likes ov Rvp,Nasri,Song left Arsenal in search for higher wages.
