Are Chelsea ready to re-enter the title chase?

Why is no one talking about Chelsea? If people are it’s certainly not many.

After last years triumph in Munich, winning the Champions League with fantastic strong performances throughout the whole championship they now have a unity. They believe they can win anything, they have Roberto Di Matteo at the helm and they are ready to dive into anything that comes their way.

For me they have made two of the best signings this year. Eden Hazard bar Neymar is the most talked about youngster with the most potential out there as seen by how much Chelsea spent on him, £32million. Which is a lot for 21 year old, but it will be worth it. He will bring such variety for Chelsea, with 22 caps for Belgium he plays often in the central attacking midfield role and is as gifted as Lionel Messi, but perhaps not on the goal ratio front. But he does have speed, excellent technical ability and can provide teammates with an assist whilst scoring a goal every other game. Eden Hazard, whilst only 21 can almost be called a bargain.

The German Messi? everyone is compared with Messi at sometime or another but Marko Marin has earned this moniker from fans and media alike. I’m astonished by the lack of interest fans and media have shown to Marin, he seems to have simply slipped under the radar and at around £7 million god knows how? that is a fantastic piece of business that reminds me of Yohan Cabaye/Hatem Ben Afra to Newcastle. He may be too nimble and lightweight for the Premiership but at that value and with his talent, it’s a win-win situation for Chelsea Football Club.

Romelu Lukaku is in his second year and along with Kevin de Bruyne, will get more match time either at Chelsea or on Loan. There’s also interest in Oscar, Andre Schurrle, Victor Moses and Edens brother Thorgan Hazard. There are some very exciting times ahead of Chelsea and they can really push on from all the negativity from John Terry’s case. With or without Terry, Roberto Di Matteo will know what he’s doing.

As long as Chelsea figure out their formation and where there talented players fit around the squad then for me Chelsea are my bet this year to win the Premier League.

What’s your take, have Chelsea forced themselves back into contention?

Yes, I do agree. There are some exciting time ahead at Stamford.
Somehow, if Fernando can start scoring, the Blues just might surprise many ill-wishing reporters.

Glad you agree spotty and now that they’ve completed the signing of Oscar and Hazard’s brother Thorgan, Chelsea are looking very strong this year, exciting to say the least.
