Arsene’s Robin Van Persie quip evidence of Arsenal’s new air of positivity?

Just one Caramello… RVP don’t leave… delicious sweetie… don’t leave for Italy…

So things are looking up at the Emirates in regards to transfers and the all important topic of Robin Van Persie staying.

I’m definitely becoming more optimistic about the season ahead with two new strikers in the form of already signed Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud who has agreed personal terms and will have a medical and sign his contract after the Euros. For once Wenger has wrapped up some business early and this is a fantastic sign of better times to come for Arsenal.

There are still a few rumours flying around about Yann  M’Vila and he apparently stated in an interview that Arsenal is still his top choice of destination. I hope we can get this signing wrapped up as soon as the Euro’s are finished. I think we absolutely need a defensive midfielder.

I still haven’t heard any rumours in regards to defenders but I hope we do buy one or maybe two. We need back up for if/when Koscielny gets banned or injuries to any of the other defenders. Gibbs is great and has amazing potential as well as being versatile but we could do with someone a little older. I’ve always thought Van De Wiel would fit into our team nicely.

Wenger has also come out and stated that he is “certain” that Van Persie will remain at Arsenal which is good news for all us gunners. I am inclined to believe him at this moment because I think if RVP did leave Wenger knows he would be lynched for reassuring us yet again. The best Wengerism in that interview was his offer to “buy us a Caramello if Robin goes to Juventus” Gotta love Wenger, when he does perk up he says the funniest things sometimes.

Surely even the most pessimistic Arsenal fan has got to be feeling the positivity. Early signings, RVP’s future in Red earning some real foundations and a new season around the corner. There’s no point being glum!

So another defender and offloading some of our overpaid and underperforming players and I’ll be one happy Gooner! I’m halfway there already!
