Hazard to United? Higuain to Chelsea? How to make sense of the transfer madness

|

As the sun sets on yet another action packed dramatic ending to football around the world, I look into what teams are out for reinforcements, the players leaving their regiments and those moving up in the ranks. With the big guns set on spending big, next season could very well be the shift in the tides, many clubs have been wishing for, while others have been dreading.

Manchester United: United have never been one to spend big, yet this season with the arrival of the free spending noisy neighbours, old Fergie and the Glazers may have to dig deep in their pockets to keep up. This season indicated that the current united squad may not be able to keep up with the world class talent city hold across the field. Sir Alex will be looking to increase his options in the midfield, reinforcing it with speed, agility and fresh talent- something the current boys seem to lacking of late.

United have openly been chasing several stars that are sure to beef up their midfield and add that touch they so badly need to keep the reigns on city. Most notable being Eden Hazard, The Belgian superstar that has all of Manchester going berserk. Talent, goals and more talent just seem to be oozing out this wonderkid, so it’s no surprise both Manchester clubs want him. Hazard seems to be the missing ingredient to United’s glory, whereas big spending city will look to add to their squad and cheese Fergie off even more…

Chelsea: Abramovich and his boys, while still celebrating their first success in Europe, will surely be looking add to their ageing squad to try and retain the Champions League by being better than the others- instead of fluking practically every match. With the likes of the Spanish giants lurking, further glory seems far from likely.

Therefore, Abramovich will also be looking to boost his squads chances by spending big in the transfer window. With goals desperately needed, followed by the departure of the main goal scoring machine the Drog , Chelsea are heavily reliant on the heavily inconsistent Fernando Torres, oh and Sturridge – who doesn’t seem to have learnt how to pass yet. Gelada seem to have their sights set on Real Madrid free scoring squad, and with Higuain seemingly dropping in the picking order, Abravomich seems locked onto his prey. Higuain even without regular football remains a goal scoring machine whenever he gets the chance. Despite this Mourinho seems intent on keeping the Argentinian wonder in Madrid. As such, the Blues are going to have to fork out big to lure Higuain away from the Bernabau.

Arsenal: With Wenger seemingly the master of self control by refusing to spend more than his pocket money in the transfer windows, arsenal look to be in trouble. But it seems Wenger was waiting for the right man, so with Van Persie being tested with wages higher than he can count, Wenger has been forced to show that arsenal are going to be a force go be reckoned with in Europe. The German goal machine that caused English heartbreak in the world cup seems to have been captured, so the gunners will be looking serologic quiet in the transfer window this year, unless Wenger wakes up on the last day and goes bargain hunting in the reduced to clear aisle again.

Real Madrid: The new Spanish leaders narrowly missed out on their long awaited La Decima this season, but mourinho will be intent on ensuring that he gets his european glory this time round. With slackers being offloaded, including world class talent such as possibly Kaka, Higuain, Nuri Sahin, Arbeloa and Adan. Mourinho will look to bring in a second keeper and a winger that can provide for the strikers. Luka Modric seems fit for the job to Mourinho, as he seems to have succeeded in doing exactly that at Spurs. Sergio Aguero seems the perfect replacement for higuain if he was to depart. With Arbeloa leaving, Mourinho will look to his old club Chelsea in Ivanovic. The special one is out to create the ultimate team and he looks to have done just that with the likely targets coming in.

With the big clubs spending, and the small cubs saving – clubs are also set for turmoil. Liverpool have been unable to challenge for the past two seasons, and I predict them to lose their foothold in the top four. The new and improved Tottenham seem to have replaced the scousers. The Magpies seem to have taken the opportunity and have shown everybody that they too are a force to be reckoned with, while other clubs such as Bolton and Blackburn have proved that they are not. The big shock in the delegation battle comes in La Liga, where previous Champions League Villareal were relegated. This transfer window seems evident on deciding the major forces in next seasons Champions League, so will Chelsea retain or will Madrid reclaim?

There’s no hate intended, there’s a clear trend that united often rely on nurturing young talents, as opposed to spending big on world class players. Yes they have done this, but on a much smaller scale to the likes of Chelsea and man city who tend to buy ready made stars.this is not to say that Chelsea or city are unable to nurture, just that they don’t do it as often as teams such as united- different techniques work for different clubs, that was the only intended message.

What do you mean? Man Utd spent 30 million on Berbatov, and what about Young and de Gea?

I would avoid using terms such as ‘slackers’ and I would not say that Chelsea were lucky, they did their job – albeit not good on the eye – and deserved to win ultimately. Liverpool have not lost their grasp on the top four as they have not been near in recent times. In addition, when referring to names always use capital
letters: ‘mourinho’ ‘arsenal’ as it looks more professional.

And finally without being too critical, you seem a bias towards Real Madrid, when writing articles you MUST be neutral in your work rathing than slanting towards one team or organisation.

Decent, but need some work. More practice should help you though.
