Eden Hazard the inspirational Belgium forward claims he wants to join a Premier League side once this season is over. Clubs like Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool have been put on high alert.

The 21-year-old scored the equalising goal from the penalty box as his side Lille overcame big spenders PSG 2-1.

Patrick Vieira, Manchester City’s football development executive and a Manchester United scout where all at the game. Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted previously that he’s gone to watch Hazard play.

After Hazard scored the equaliser he appeared on French television and said “I want to play in England, that’s what I have decided.” This naturally set Twitter alight with speculation regarding his future.

Hazard has had yet another barnstorming season scoring 18 goals and registering 14 assists. Unfortunately this hasn’t been enough to help Lille grab the Ligue 1 title. That honour will fall to Montpellier who have grown to prominence thanks to Olivier Giroud and Younes Belhanda.

However with Man United, Man City and Arsenal all speculated heavily linked to the wiley winger, Liverpool’s interest has been swept somewhat under the rug. Could a surprise move to Anfield be on the cards?

Liverpool’s on loan Joe Cole is currently playing alongside Hazard in Ligue 1 is keen to extend his stay at Lille. So could this put Liverpool in pole position? Could some kind of swap deal be engineered between the two players Cole and Hazard?

The Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid may take Hazard’s announcement as a big blow. His desire to play in England means he’s effectively been taken off the market to them.

Liverpool have had a poor Premier league campaign and £35m star man Andy Carroll is not firing on all cylinders. The Reds have hit the woodwork 32 times this season. With Hazard scoring for fun in France he may well be the answer.

The lack of Champions League football may well act as a turn-off for Hazard who looks to have his pick of the litter when the transfer window opens this summer. The guarantee of regular first team football and the chance to play for a side who is still winning trophies may well be a draw for the young Belgium star.

What’s your take? Should Liverpool join the fray or would he be too costly an addition?

HA!! Why would one of the most talented young players in europe want to sign for a mid-table team with a manager who’s clearly senile?. No chance.

Sick today. But that nearly had me wetting myself. There have been four leagues within the Premier Division this season. The battle for the title (2 teams)The battle for Champions league (4 teams) the battle to stay in the Premiership (6 teams) then the also rans. Liverpool are done, forever mid-table why would Hazard want that? plus you haven’t got 30M The gap is getting bigger, US owners don’t work.

  • simon says:

Yeah right good one, they are a mid-table club now. What would be the point in him going to Liverpool?

  • Razman says:

Why the hell would he want to go to a mediocre side like Liverpool? He’ll end up at City.

  • chunky says:

It is hardly a secret as to where this guy is going. He was in attendance to see the Manchester derby so it is hardly rocket science to see he is going to either United or City. Is it?
