Eden Hazard is the name on everyone’s lips at the moment as the exciting summer of transfer dealing approaches.   The 21 year old has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, both Manchester clubs and London’s dominating clubs also.  One club who has escaped being linked with the winger is Liverpool, a team that has been linked with almost every player going, but not Hazard which is perhaps telling in representing Liverpool’s current status in world football.

John Henry would surely veto a move for the much heralded winger as he fits perfectly into the new strategy being implemented on transfers upon Anfield.  Hazard is young and has yet to reach to reach his full potential meaning his value will only grow and grow rather than diminish over time.  Kenny Dalglish would surely welcome the Belgium international to his ranks to challenge the hugely disappointing Stewart Downing for his overly comfortable place in the starting eleven.  However, Liverpool would obviously face extremely stiff competition for Hazard’s signature but perhaps the young man should seriously consider the Merseysider’s above any other interested party.

Hazard is still young and should not be forced to warm any bench across Europe he is simply to good for that.  However Hazard could face this at any one of the clubs rumoured to be interested in him, each club has a wealth of options arguably as good as Hazard.  Take Manchester City for starters; they have Silva and Nasri both vying for one spot, they don’t need Hazard there as well competing with these two.  Real Madrid also, Madrid have Ozil, Kaka and Ronaldo in a similar position to Hazard and the trio could be seen as better and proven players.  Furthermore, Manchester United has the likes of Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia who would both provide very stiff opposition to Hazard becoming an Old Trafford regular.

Now this is not to say Hazard cannot compete with any of these players, the winger may well become better players than these.  But at this time in his career Hazard must be playing week in and week out making him known to the world of football.  That is why perhaps he could be better of in taking the easier option and opting for a Chelsea, Spurs or even Liverpool.  Each club is magical in its own right, containing History and class and would provide Hazard with a sufficient step up from his current club Lille.  First team football would be guaranteed and Eden Hazard would continue to grow and grow rather than being left to sit on a waste less bench.

  • chunky says:

Boudebouz would be a better buy as not only wing play but is a direct attacker as well. He would be also about a quarter of the cost of Hazard. I strongly suspect that Hazard would be so much over-hyped that if he did come to EPL it would be a disappointment. Quite a few much lauded last year and brought in ( i.e Villa to mention just one) have been good but not THAT good and no way near the laudits they received prior to coming! I suggest LFC should learn from the over-pricing and do as NUFC did last year and buy WISELY !

    • j75j says:

Hazard and his agent are doing all they can to make make sure there is a bidding war, playing teams off against each other!
Liverpool supposedly after Mexican winger Hector Herrera but he has only played 23 times for Pachuca in Mexico.

  • Jamali says:

Please…!!! He’ll win absolutely nothing at Liverpool. He’ll most probably be playing out of position, with mediocre players around him, supporting strikers who can’t score, supported by overpriced local born wingers who can’t really play and led by a captain obsessed with hollywood passes. In a club surviving only on past glories and a manager who wasted over a hundred million pounds on duds.

Why would Hazard wanna go there?

    • j75j says:

  • Mark says:

I am sick of people saying Stuart Downing has been a complete flop or whatever,do people see these games at all, Stuart Downing has been brilliant tracking back and helping out defensively, he puts numerous balls in the box only for players not even to attempt to get on the end of them and when they do they miss, he has been incredibly unlucky not to have 10 or 11 assists in the league this year, and had he got those I’m sure he would have got more, I stopped reading the article when you said that, bullshit, and you write for a paper, bigger fools to let you.

  • Sideswipe says:

Exactly what is magical about spurs and chelsea and what is this history you claim they have?
One thing drives football in todays game, money, his agent will push him to where he will get the biggest payout.

  • Will says:

Liverpool are the worst team in the list and haven’t won their domestic league in 22 years and Lille won it recently so he Should pick even Lille ahead of liverpool

  • Xjay says:

Alan i think you don’t what you are saying,Lfc is the best club in england, since Lfc don’t go to UCL what are other clubs doing, why can’t they come home with UCL trophy, you said LFC is full of mediocre player, but those players have already win a cup and in another final this same season, you are joke for saying.I believe lfc knw there missing link and they will correct, lfc is still on building we are fighting for two trophy, after building you knw what Lfc will look like to other team.A cheat cos they won’t able to stop us,Falcao or Cavani is expected at the end of the season.Never Walk Alone.Support Lfc till I die

  • david says:

Will sounds like a young man who lives closer to Liverpool than Manchester but made the mistake of throwing his lot behind MacUd because he needed instant success and realises his awful mistake.

He just missed out on welcoming ‘Big Ears’ back to Anfield and has suffered depression ever since.

He now sees The Reds are on the way back so he continues reading the Liverpool Fan sites. Be brave Will come back and support the team of your fathers.
