This year, however, Jose Mourinho is sitting just 1pt ahead of Barcelona (albeit with a game in hand at the time of writing) who beat Getafe 4-0 on Tuesday night. Real Madrid have seen Barcelona cut down their nine point lead and panic may well be creeping in. In this article, we look at Real Madrid’s season so far and we raise the debate whether they’re able to hold on and capture their first league title since quite a while.

Then going to on to beat Getafe 4-2 the following week. Many media were starting to praise the league leaders and some starting doubting their chances of winning the league, as it always comes down to the El Classico.

Skip forward a few months to late November, the 26th to be exact. The first Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid derby was played, this time, Real proved their quality and came out winners, 4-1. Skip forward, again, to the first El Classico of the season.

This would prove, so far, was Jose Mourinho able to bring home the league title to Real Madrid C.F However, Real managed to fall away come the second half and disappointing lost 1-3. Cue Media reports doubting Real Madrid and Jose’s ability in Spain.

Then, you come into late March early April. Real Madrid sit just one point ahead of Barcelona with only a few games left, with that, a El Claissco left however. We’ll be back come May to see whether Real Madrid hung on to capture a league title.
