Image for SIX strikers Liverpool HAVE to consider this January:

Much has been made of Liverpool’s profligacy in front of goal this season with Kenny Dalglish’s side drawing six times at Anfield in the Premier League this season.

Throw in Luis Suarez’s impending eight-game suspension and Liverpool are going to need at least one reinforcement in the striking department to aid the misfiring Andy Carroll, Craig Bellamy and Dirk Kuyt who have just four Premier League goals between them.

Clean Sheets suggests six players that have been linked with a move to Liverpool who could solve Dalglish’s dilemma…

1. Teofilo Gutierrez – Racing Club de Avellaneda – Possible value: £8m

Perhaps the most far-fetched of this list, Gutierrez is currently playing his football in Argentina and has scored six times in 11 games. A Colombian international.

2. Lukasz Podoloski – Cologne – £20m

Podolski has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal but the German’s goalscoring form in the Bundesliga could also alert Liverpool.

3. Moussa Dembele – Fulham – £10m

Belgian Dembele is being praised for his performances in the Premier League this season – including an impressive display against Liverpool recently – but his lack of goals (just one this season) surely means he’s not the answer.

4. Rory Donnelly – Cliftonville – £1m

Both Everton and Swansea City have made bids for Irish forward Donnelly with Liverpool’s interest also being confirmed by Cliftonville’s chairman.

5. Klass-Jan Huntelaar – Schalke – £25m

By far the most prolific striker on this list is Huntelaar with an incredible 26 goals in 27 games for Schalke this season. The reason Robin van Persie could be Holland’s second choice forward next summer.

6. Fernando Torres – Chelsea – £20m

It couldn’t happen, could it? Whispers in recent weeks have suggested that Torres could make a dramatic return to Anfield following his £50m exit just one year ago.

  • Adam says:

For me.. better Liverpool get Fernando Torres and Lukasz Podolski cause they’re really goalscorer exspecially in front of goal. As you see before when Torres played with Liverpool.I Think Torres should joining Liverpool.

  • Karim says:

Six strikers LFC have to consider and one of them has only scored 1 goal this season??? Are you off your rocker?

Strikers we have to consider would be along the lines of Defoe, Agbonlahor, Jelavic, Zaha and why not a cheeky bid for Demba Ba?

We should also be looking at getting some pace in the wide right area so why not someone like Scott Sinclair or even Theo Walcott?

I agree with the Torres deal, but this should only happen if Carroll is sold back to Newcastle.

Podolski will want to play Champions League football,

Why are we being linked with an 19 year old who scores goals for fun in the irish league? Did you see how bad Shamrock were against Spurs reserves side? Let Donnelly goto Swansea and if he does well, then fair play to him

I’ve never heard of your first choice so cant comment.

  • Steve says:

Forget about Darren Bent, it has to be Tevez on a 6 month loan, or even Anelka come to that. No, if Arsenal can re-sign Henry then what is Robbie Fowler up to these days?!

  • ALLAN says:

torres back £20ml carrol out £20ml sell him on in summer for £25ml. I can dream cant I

  • tinleg says:

    A load of bollox

  • the word says:

Central Strikers the club will look at are:

    Sow
    Remy
    Podolski
    Barrios

All the others are either too slow, too egotistic, too risky or too expensive. Which includes Doumbia, Huntelaar, Grioud, Bent etc.

  • Arhan shariff says:

sell carrol n bring back torres…torres is meant for liverpool

    • Rohan says:

Is he what! You are a confused guy

    • STEVE says:

i think your 100% right there, torres is made for liverpool playing style, and when you think about it really carrol is pretty suited to chelski,s. maybe a swap deal is on the cards because i think deep down torres regrets ever leaving liverpool.

    • jimmy c says:

I would have him back like a shot!
deep down most lfc fans still have a softspot
for the guy even if he did bugger off at the time when we needed him most, come on home son all is forgiven.

  • ofitex says:

yes i like that transfer if it can happen it will help us alot in anfield, that is a good move from our coach.

  • Rohan says:

This comment is fairly ambitious but seriously get real. Podolski is awful at club level and Torres has became as unfit as Andy Carroll. The first one is unproven and would also prove to be a waste of money Donnelly is good in the Irish league seriously I could score goals for fun in that league and the rest is crap

  • tadesse says:

please leave bent we need either torres or Huntelaar or Podoloski otherwise we use carroll

  • joered says:

For me if Torres comeback to LFC it’s good because he is still a world class but to be more realistic I would go for Demba Ba, proven goal scorer, fast, good finishing and hard working which LFC need…

  • Anto2292 says:

Ba going to African cup nations no use y not cavani friend of suarez

  • Chris says:

It will be ok to see torres back at anfield..sure he is full of regrets now for leaving in d 1st place..
Huntelaar scoring 26 goals from 27matches is d best on that list…. Hope KKD goes for d best…
We will never walk alone…i love d anfield guys!

  • Ashfah Hussain says:

Hope we learn enough lessons in the past so as to guide us which player to buy. Look at the list, starting from Caroll , Robbie Keane, Ryan Babel Fernando Morientes, Mark Gonzales, Harry Kewell, Djibril Cisse and El Haj Diouf. Add the ‘free’ ones like Ivan Jokanovic, Joe Cole, Andry Veronin, Jari Litmanen and Erik Maier.
    Me, Ashfah loves Torres.

  • man says:

when gerrard back..its mean..torres can make a goal… when suarez back… its more crazy.. downing at right, bellamy at left.. we can put adam in defensive mid line. he can make good passing like alonso and he can make shoot from of box. we can moved easy with enrique and johnson from wide.

it`s mean the player type like banitez era but with daglish come, the player mix with attacking and movement.. best show..

  • Ajileye Johnson says:

In my own view, Fernando is made REDs. I hope Kenny will make a move. Lets bring the Emperor back to its Empire and go to war with other Generals.

  • Zekk says:

Edinson Cavani should be in that list.

  • frank says:

what are all this people you are calling podolski is more or less like carroll who cant handle the pressure of big clubs[he played for bayern and was a flop]. Get me osvaldo, higuain or toress whom are consistence every season

  • chyvoin says:

Torres is better cos he used to be success at liverpool
