Man City show their class once more with this ticket fiasco:

Image for Man City show their class once more with this ticket fiasco:

United have been forced to ask the FA to act over Manchester City’s refusal to allocate the required amount of tickets for the Reds in their upcoming cup tie.

Despite FA regulations stating clubs must allocate 15% of their seats for away fans in FA Cup  games, City have declared they are willing to give United just 11.2% which is roughly 5400 tickets rather than the 7100 we are entitled to.

It seems City are displaying the same small mindedness we can often expect from a club that’s proving money can’t buy you class. The Guardian reports:

United are not bound to give visiting clubs the usual 15% allocation because they are given special dispensation from the FA on the basis that Old Trafford is the largest ground in the country. Instead, they routinely give away fans 8,500 tickets for cup ties, and have informed City during discussions about the possibility of a replay that they would not make an exception for their local neighbours, offering roughly 11.2% of their 76,000 capacity. City’s offer is almost identical percentage-wise and United have been left to wonder whether this is deliberate.

For most Reds there’ll be no ‘wondering’ at all, City are simply trying to prove a point and no doubt worried that 7000 United fans will out-sing them. Typical City.

I can’t see why you lot are so concerned. I was struggling to count 5,400 Rags at the final whistle at the Swamp in October.

This City is yours, This City is yours, 30,000 empty seats, are you f***in sure?

If you read the report, which has been on countless websites, it will tell you that the Police and H&S have asked for the reduction, which has been accepted by the FA.

Still cant expect expect you to read or report anything good. You are far too busy trawling websites to have a pop at city. Classy !!!

  • Joe Ramsbottom says:

United getting ‘special dispensation’ eh? Now there’s a shock. Mind you, however many they get they will all leave after 60 minutes anyway as they have in recent derby matches

  • paul...grimsby blue says:

utd fans didnt behave themselves at COMS when we played them in the CC semi finals few years back. they had flares etc. city have obviously reduced it for security reasons, as for out singing the city fans, as fans of other teams will tell you they often ridicule utd fans at the swamp for the showerthey are when it comes to singing

What a pathetic non story by a ‘fan’ of the biggest club in the world. Get the full facts before trying to put down MCFC. If you wish to do that just save time by reading the the quality Red tops that continue to look for non stories on City while there beloved Teams – United Chelski Liverpool etc continue to do nothing and comment on their sad websites.

  • Betnod says:

The small minority of City fans out singing 70 odd thousand United fans during the 6-1 drubbing was class.

And what part of Manchester does the author live in? and who’s bitter now.

  • Budtheweiser says:

If were so small minded to think of safety issues why have the Fa agrred with us as usual the bitter rags crying as its not going there way.

  • Melon Man says:

Out of date news, City have been given special dispensation too for the ticket allocation, as per the advice of Greater Manchester police and Council – for the safety and well-being of both sets of fans.

    Do keep up.

do unto others comes to mind we got 2,500 for our game at the swamp, anyway we won this battle as well

  • John says:

Same old ‘typical’ utd ‘we think we can do what we want’ fan whingeing and trying to stir it.

Why should utd get special treatment anyway. So what if their ground holds more. Should be the same % for ALL clubs regardless of size. Otherwise everyone should be set the same number 5000

Hopefully we will kick them out of the FA cup without needing a replay.

  • bluemoon70 says:

Haha. Love the bitterness from United fans. Means we’re doing something right.

  • Jenks says:

We get 11% as does any other team visiting OT…Therefore we give them 11%…where’s the problem in that??..The FA shouldn’t give this lot special treatment..Its high time the rags were treated the same as everyone else and not always be given their own way.

This is blagged from a United blog. It also doesn’t mention that United have a permanent dispensation with respect to the FA’2 15% away fans rule, “because they have such a big stadium”, apparently. As noted above, United fans have been unable to behave when at Eastlands, there were next to none at the end of the Derby still in the ground, and all through the Derby, 2900 City fans outsang 70,000+ United “fans”.

Sour grapes from a club that specialises in sour grapes.

  • MCFC_BlueMoon says:

If you’re gonna moan do it right… you don’t have the biggest ground in the country, Wembley is bigger…1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6 1-6

  • StevieBlue says:

Aren’t these the same animals who last season turned up at Eastlands with flares, golfballs and darts? You’ve got the cheek to talk about class?

What about the women, children and pensioners beaten up at Wembley, oh and the coaches that were bricked? All swept under the media ‘nited carpet.
