Forgotten Gunner Park Chu-Youngrecently declared he was not fit enough to play in the Premier League, after spending over two months adapting to life in England, but now feels the time is right to kick-start his Arsenal career.

With most of the club’s stars making their way back from internationals, Park is hoping that Arsene Wenger will grant him a chance against Norwich on Saturday afternoon.

This is what Park had to say:

‘I couldn’t train much for about two months before I moved here. I just had to do some personal training instead. Since I joined the team it has been two months and I feel like I am in my normal condition now.’

The South Korean captain was one of the five to arrive on the two-day signing spree towards the end of August. He was named a sub for the Swansea clash at The Emirates in September, but had to a further 10 days to make his first appearance for the north London club. He managed to net his first goal for Arsenal on his second appearance against Bolton in the Carling Cup a few weeks back. With Marouane Chamakh injured and Robin van Persieappearing ‘tired’ in Wenger’s eyes, a week later Park was able to start his first Champions League game for The Gunners against familiar opponents Marseille.

Starting from today onwards, Arsenal will be playing 11 games in the space of 43 days. Wenger will have no other choice than to rotate his players around in order to prevent tiredness. With the Frenchman handling Van Persie cautiously and Chamakh looking like a man with little or no confidence, Park should be handed a number of chances to prove that his price tag doesn’t reflect his talent.

The general feeling amongst the Arsenal public is that they too also feel that Park deserves a run in the first-team before the end of December, so that he will be ready for January when Arsenal will be without two strikers in the form of Gervinho and Chamakh due to the African Cup of Nations.

Is it time for Wenger to give the South Korean star a run of games? I certainly think so.
