Harry will be England’s next manager – but is he worthy?

So we all know who the next England manager is going to be don’t we? I mean it’s not a secret that the man everyone has been calling for is good old Harry Redknapp  who himself has hardly distanced himself from the job previously stating if England came calling “it would be hard to turn down“ sky sports  currently make him 4/5 to take the role after Fabio steps down .

Why shouldn’t he get the job? The job he’s done with spurs has been remarkable he taken them from relegation candidates to top four contenders building a squad full of international stars. However it is worth a mention that he’s suffered more premier league losses than any other manger in history and his lack of international experience is a little worrying. However if he were to leave who would be in the hot seat at the lane?

Looking at the possible contenders someone that has always had ambition to be a top four manger is Mark Hughes. He’s already had experience in building a squad that could challenge for the top four with man city “Sparky” is still widely known as the manger that started the city revolution , many agreed that his time at city was cut short a tad too soon as city wanted an instant impact on the millions injected to the club however Sparky could be the man for the lane as he’s a lot in common with the current man in charge he has a nose for a deal in the transfer market  , can deal with the egos that come with a big club and maybe most importantly has the ability to get the very best out of all his players making them the best they can be , making him a very good contender for the job.

Next up is the man that every football fan wants to see back in England yes it’s the special one José Mourinho. The Real Madrid manager has been almost begging for a return to England since he left. So what makes him the ideal manager to take the hot seat at spurs?

Well even the most optimistic spurs fan will admit he’s a little over qualified winning league titles in England , Portugal and Italy spurs would have to fight hard to get him he doesn’t normally have to worry about working on a budget spurs only hope of getting him would seem to be his well-known arguments with  Jorge Valdano making his position a little less stable than it should be ,  however he wouldn’t have the millions at Chelsea and it remains to be seen if he can work without one.

The last man on the list is the very highly rated Gus Poyet. The Brighton manager lead the league one team to promotion last year and has made them promotion contenders this year with an attacking mentality his focus it seems Tottenham players would be able to fit into his system with ease.

Another advantage he has over the competition would be the fact that On 29 October 2007, Poyet joined his former club Tottenham Hotspur to work alongside Juande Ramos the man who was in charge before Tottenham before Redknapp. He made a big impression at the lane and I’m sure the door would be open to a return the only problem seems to be his lack of top flight experience with many managers having so much more experience than Poyet. Who knows who spurs will pick to take the helm however if they wish to continue their rise and push for a top four spot than they should choose the next manager very wisely.

None of those guys would get near the job – not Spurs style any of them. Ancelotti would be a better fit or Hiddink.

Ancelotti is Spurs style? He bored Milan to death….whilst winning everything in sight – I might add. Even his interviews are boring. The only thing that isn’t boring about him is his eyebrow. Not Spurs style, but wants to stay in London, and if he is up for it, he may be the obvious choice…but boring…

Also Harry isn’t going to get offered the England job once he’s been in court with HMRC – too dodgy.

Bizarre NON-stat about Harry having the most losses in Premier league… He is just coincidentally one of the few managers that have managed since the Premier league started, so numerically the losses stack up – but proportionally it is not a high loss rate. Wenger & Ferguson obviously have been in charge of bigger teams than Harry – hence have lost less. Despite this, Harry has lost only a third of his games since 1994.
