Blackburn fans aren’t too kean; but why?

|

There has been much made of Steve Kean most of it not positive. “Get Kean out” is the most popular chant down at Ewood park right now with fans protesting at nearly every game for his head so much so Blackburn had to ban banners from there stadium however did that silence the Ewood park faithful? NO!

Blackburn fans in fact then looked to the sky’s flying a banner over the stadium with the clubs new slogan Kean out and with rovers second from bottom in the table having played eleven games only taking three points once, and that was against a failing arsenal at the start of the season and even in that game Blackburn conceded three goals. However I believe it’s time to look at some of the positive aspects that’s he’s brought to Blackburn’s game.

First of all let’s have a look at his man management I’m not sure Blackburn fans have really seen how good Kean is at keeping his players happy and actually getting their best form out of the best example of which is junior Hoilett with the player being nothing but a reserve under big Sam he’s now gone on to be one of the finest wingers in the premiership with numerous teams now scouting the twenty one year old after putting in some fine displays this season.

It’s also worth noting that Blackburn although been bottom of the league and having the fans on their back are still playing for Steve Kean and are still fighting for their lives.  how many Blackburn players have come out and said look Steve Kean isn’t good enough? you still have the feeling that the players are still behind the manager .this has been reflected in the signing of contracts the biggest of those being Chris samba who was strongly linked with Arsenal and Tottenham in the transfer window and is a key member of the squad.

A premiership manager in this day and age must have a nose for a bargain in the transfer window and that’s exactly what Steve Kean has bringing in two Barcelona youngsters which have so far proved a big hit in the league Formica and Rochina having scored four goals between the two of them and bringing a new stylish look to the Blackburn strike force. Kean also brought in Yakubu who is currently Blackburn’s top goal scorer has lead the Blackburn line with a with a plum this using his power , strength and goal scoring ability to great effect keeping Blackburn just a few points off safety.

Then there’s Scott Dan rumoured to be wanted by Arsenal , Chelsea and Liverpool yet Blackburn were able to snap up the Englishman for a good price and although he may have found it hard to adapt once he starts to build a partnership with captain Chris samba could be one of the rocks to steady the ship that’s been leaking goals.

The one area in which I cannot defend Kean is his tactics although injury’s have limited what he can do he hasn’t shown the best experience especially in his last match ageist Norwich. Blackburn were in control and leading by three goals to one when Kean decided to change players and the shape of the team , which lead to Blackburn shipping in another two goals and squaring it up to three all.

However the way Norwich got there equaliser a penalty in the last minute typified Blackburn’s season as one of the unluckiest in football with Paul Merson” describing it as the Worst decision I’ve ever seen” some other examples of hard luck is earlier in the season Blackburn missed two penalty’s with their experienced penalty takers already gone of injured Steve Kean must be rueing his luck. If Blackburn had got those two wins would put them on eleven points and outside the relegation zone.  Just something to think about for Blackburn fans.

  • And what precisely, qualifies you to apparently know better than 20,000 Rovers’ fans, pray tell?
I note that Kean’s abysmal record has been left out of your ‘analysis’?
In a points/results driven business, hasn’t it crossed your tiny little mind that therein lies the problem?
I can’t recall reading such utter tripe since Kean’s latest press release!
If you don’t understand the basics, it may be better to keep your trap shut in future!

  • matt says:

Sorry fella but almost entirely disagree.

Kean’s record is all important played 32 won 6. This season played 11 won 1. Not scored in final 15 mins of any game (fitness is appalling), only scores final goal once, etc, etc. Off the pitch he is also delusional with his thinly veiled promises. Champions league!?1? Come on.

Also its professional suicide for a player to publicly criticise their manager so why would they do that. When he’s finally gone you may find they are all signing a different tune. As for extended contracts money talks.

Formica and Rochina were apparently scouted by Allardyce and with Jerome Anderson involved highly unlikely Kean knew much about them.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool obviously didn’t want dann if they had he would have gone.

  • Lewis platts says:

    totally agreee dude 🙂

  • Cameron Makeman says:

fair enough all views are excepted but the thing is you say 20,000 Blackburn fans how many showed up to there first protest against arsenal? a good 100 if that. As for formica and rochina i wouldnt give allardce must credit for that as they don’t exactly seem his type of signing maybe they were bought by other members of the club. However keans the one who gave them last season to adapt to English football and for me champions league football is a line that comes out of the owners mouth not keans.

    • matt says:

Cameron you are subscribing to Keans ridiculous notion that if you don’t protest against him by default you are for him.

I have not been on any protest (not my thing really) but I despise the man and want him out, apathetic maybe, but just because there is only a minority actively doing something to try to remove him (our better fans probably) it does not mean that the rest of us not participating want him to stay.

Don’t know your motives for trying to defend him but he is not worthy of any positive comments.

      An insufferable turd.

  • Bob, Blackburn says:

    “Cameron Makeman”. That’s a snazzy nom-de-plum Steve.

“a nose for a bargain” eh? So while Rochina nominally cost £400,000 you conveniently forget to mention the £1,650,000 in agency fees that wne to your chum Jerome Andersen.

I am so unenthused by Stevie “no points” Kean that I can’t even be bothered to challenge the rest of the drivel in this article, such is the soul-sucking effect he is having on the supporters. Nobody can bear to listen to any more of his nonsense.

    One word: R E S U L T S

  • As I have already stated ‘Cameron’
It would indeed appear that you haven’t a clue what you’re talking about and my advise to you still stands -NEXT!
