Why this man must EARN his return back to Arsenal:

|

Denilson and Diaby have under performed in the centre of Arsenal's midfield this seasonFor me Denilson epitomised everything that was wrong with Arsenal club over the last couple of seasons. The fact that the Gunners have only got worse since he left in the summer on loan is completely irrelevant. His lack of impetus and direction, his passionless football and his inability to track runs from midfield made him a constant target of Arsenal fans ire. As such there’ll be very few fans that are pleased with the news that the young Brazilian may be returning from his loan move sooner than planned.

It’s not like Denilson has impressed during his time on loan at San Paolo. His first three appearances were marked by two red cards and he has even managed to fall out with the club’s hierarchy and the fans. It’s unsurprising really considering he had history in this regard. I’m sure Arsenal fans will remember Denilson calling Cesc Fabregas out for lacking ‘leadership’.

Arsenal, poor as they are at the moment simply wont be improved by his addition to the squad. Arsenal don’t need somebody who can keep the ball, they need somebody who can drive play forward and create chances. Denilson just isn’t capable of being a dynamic force in the centre of the park.

Think about it. Who would you rather see play for the Gunners at the moment. Denilson or Francis Coquelin? Coquelin may as of yet be a raw talent but at least he plays with passion.

There may be some fans who point out that Aaron Ramsey has been equally as ineffective as Denilson was at times. But this would be an unfair criticism directed at a player who is still finding his feet after a career-threatening injury. Ramsey has the potential to go on and be something great, but for Denilson that boat seems to have already set sail.

This may sound harsh and perhaps it is, but Arsenal have kept Denilson on the payroll for quite some time and it’s difficult to pinpoint too many moments in his career where he really earned his keep. I’d love nothing more than for his development to really kick off, but I just can’t see it happening.

To this extent, I don’t really see the need for Denilson to return to Arsenal. He needs to prove that he’s capable of performing at San Paolo, otherwise he ought to be sold on for whatever pittance that Arsenal are offered.

Fans like you epitomise what is wrong with British footballing culture ‘he lacks passion’ :duh:

A quick question for you: hands on heart, have you seen any of the games Denilson has played for Sao Paulo since his return? He’s been quite good and there’s a reason he’s prefered to Casimero(a Brazil international and one of their most promising talents).

So stop this disgraceful witch-hunting against a player who has mostly had positive things to say about the club you love and support.

PLEASE GIVE DENILSON A CHANCE TO DEVELOPE,HE IS ONLY 23 YEARS OLD.FOR ME HE HAS AN ELCELLENT FIRST TOUCH,CAN PASS THE BALL QUICKLY AS WELL AS KEEPING THE BALL AND OVERALL TECHNICALLY EFFICIENT.WE ARE JUST TOO HASTY TO SHIP AWAY OUR YOUNGSTER THUS FRUSTRATING THEM;WHATS THE SENSE TAKING THEM ON BOARD?ARSENAL IS IN NO DOUBT GOING THROUGH A PHASE WHICH MIGHT LAST FOR SOME TIME.GUNNERS FOR LIFE!

You are joking!! This Brazillian Bellend is a prime example of Wengers utterly flawed youth policy. Paying idiots like this 60,000 a week has made us a laughing stock, has seen our best players leave because they don’t want to carry deadwood like Denilson and has stopped us from attracting top class talent….Wenger bought Jenkinson for christ sake….he’s a pub player!! Wake up you moron!!

i would gave a divorce later once he back from loan

  • Langers says:

Timroy No! Just no! 4 years ago I was getting frustrated with Denilson and have constantly been trying to give him chance and have been watching him constantly on and off the ball. I am very supportive of my players, however I have made an exception for Denilson. Without doubt one of the worse players I have seen at Arsenal. Where do you play him? He is too slow and lack creativity to go forward so he can’t play in advanced position. He can pass sideways and backwards to play more defensive…..but he can’t defend! Players just run passed him. In the 1-3 defeat to United Denilson was involved in all 3 goals. Shocking. He can’t even cut is at Sao Paulo

  • Octopus says:

There is nothing as infuriating as watching Denilson jogging passionless as the team is under attack. Lazy bugger. He is so passionless, he makes me want to breakdown in tears. No. That boy shouldn’t come back to the Arsenal. Hewas given too much time to prove himself and did jackshit. Him, that Djorou guy and Rosicky should just fuck off really. I would rather have Eboue back a thousand times than Denilson. The problem is with Wenger. He is to nice. The rednose would have shipped out most of these passionless guys. Fuck it, the thought of Denilson coming back is getting me depressed.

  • ogban says:

He is not coming back. Not after all the rubbish he vomited against the club

  • callygooner says:

Be realistic he had his chance hear and failed badly. The chances of him coming through at nearly 24 is slim

About the only thing he ever got right.

  • Moses Watasa says:

It’s not just Denilson with debatable quality in the ranks of Arsenal FC! What about Bendtner, Chamakh, Arshavin, Almunia and Park? And then there’s the man himself – Arsene Wenger. He’s outlived his usefulness to Arsenal – but only riding on the fluked success between 1996 and 2004!In fact, Arsene Wenger’s neck should be chopped because he’s singly responsible for pilling all these junk-players at Arsenal FC.
