Is it time to start questioning Mourinho’s authority?

|

It’s a fact. Real Madrid have once again dropped points this season. It could be down to a bad spell, or the unfortunate timing of all the injuries that have occured, or perhaps it’s just a sign that some things are not being handled correctly right now with-in the club. The spanish media have been directing their criticisms towards “Mou” these last few days, with some people even starting to debate whether he is the right coach for Madrid. This is what Mourinho had to say about the game against Racing Santander where the team drew 0-0.

We had complete control over the game, especially in the first half. We played in our opponent’s half of the pitch after half-time and we didn’t have that many chances on goal. This is due to Racing, who defended fiercely and played their game well looking to take one point.

I can both agree with Mou and disagree with him on one point. The team had the usual control over a match and did possess the ball most of the time. But I do not like it when Mourinho starts talking about opponents playing good, Racing were absolutely horrible, which makes it all the more strange that El Madrid dropped 2 points, and furthermore that the team hasn’t scored a goal for two matches in a row.

“As a team we didn’t do our best and some of our players performed under par, but we tried to win and ended the game the way we played it: with two defenders, with someone playing in the middle and with two forwards. It’s less worrysome to draw a match in which you’re the only side that tries to play and win.”

It’s strange to say that some players performed under par, when it’s the same starting eleven all the time (when nobody is injured or suspended). Mourinho sees a need to play his preferred starting eleven just a litte bit too much. One player who receives critisicm outside of Madrid is Ángel di María, who Mourinho seems to depend on too much. A lot of pundits are beginning to wonder why Mourinho doesn’t make bigger changes to the team (even though it must be said that 3 guys were missing against Levante)

“Last year we started dropping points four times, away from home and if Barcelona win against Valencia they will get 3 points, not 30 points”

Of course Madrid were lucky enough for them to look back at the game and see that even Barcelona dropped two points against Valencia. But the most important thing for a team is to take care of their own winning style, rather than concentrating on what their rivals do. The problem with being a top La Liga team  is twofold: First you cannot afford to casually drop points and the second thing is that, sure it’s nice that Valencia were about to beat Barcelona but the smaller teams just won’t make the cut. As for Mourinho I know that he doesn’t care about what others do, he’d rather just see his team back to winning ways.

Finally former sportschief Pardeza also had some words:

“It is not within our objectives to just take one point from two games. The team tried to get their first goal til the last minute but we struggled to find the space needed and this resulted in the lack of chances and the final result”

what a shame, talking about his Authority. There is no one like him in History. Absurd to ask any question like this. Sorry.

I think it´s a shame too. But it´s the spanish media who have started argue about it. But i agree with you…
