Is this a fair price for this Arsenal target?

Arsenal  have made an enquiry for Hamburg  winger Eljero Elia , according to Skysports.com.

Arsene Wenger  is reportedly looking to strengthen his squad before Wednesday’s transfer deadline day and is particularly keen to add a creative talent to his side following the sales of Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona and Samir Nasri to Manchester City respectively.

With the money generated from Cesc and Samir’s departures, as well as the money pocketed by progressing to the Champions League group stages, Wenger does have the funds available to him to attract top quality players to the Emirates before the transfer window closes.

The Gunners have been linked with an array of talent in the last few weeks and the north London club are now believed to have identified Dutch international Elia as a potential transfer target.

It is understood that Arsenal have contacted Hamburg to ask about the 24-year-olds availability.

The Bundersliga outfit have already rejected an offer from Juventus for the highly-rated winger earlier in the summer, but it is thought that Michael Oenning , Hamburg’s head coach, admitted that he is not happy with Elia’s performances so far this season and could be willing to listen to offers this time around.

Elia, who bagged 2 goals and 3 assists in 24 appearances for Hamburg last season and nothing in 3 outings so far for the German club this one, is under contract at the Imtech Arena until 2014 after arriving from FC Twente two summers ago for a fee of approximately £7.5 million.

However, if Hamburg are willing to listen to offers for the Dutchman in the next 4 days, then a fee in the region of £10 million could be enough to secure his services.

Whether Wenger deems this price respectable is up for him to decide.

I’m not an expert but it seems like a fair price for his talent.

But the question is where will he play. We have players on the wings, in Gervinho , Theo (4-3-3) Alex and Miyachi. We desperately need a mid fielder with attacking powress.

Arsene Wenger should pls go and secure the likes of Mikel Arteta, Gary Cahil, Elia, Chu Young before the dead line. The money at his disposal is far enough to attract this 4s to Emirate Stadium. Unless if he is ready to face another masacre, this time at Etihad stadium and Stamford Brigde
