Why it’s best for everyone involved that this man leaves Liverpool:

I’m not usually one for attacking players, of for too heavily preaching a ‘Player X simply isn’t good for club Y’ type of mantra, but when it’s clear that a player isn’t going to get his due at his current club, a move away starts to become more and more appealing. One player in this current position is Liverpool’s Paul Konchesky.

Whilst Konchesky may suffer through his association with Roy Hodgson (given that he was one of his first buys during his short-lived tenure at Anfield) it’s clear that he hasn’t lived up to his £4m price tag. In the same way that Hodgson found a degree of recompense by a move away from Liverpool and success with West Brom, Konchesky may well also find that the grass is greener in newer pastures.

Whilst Konchesky has no control over what his mother posts on her Facebook, if he remains with Liverpool he’ll be forever tarred with the brush of her comments. In case you missed it, Paul’s mother last year updated her Facebook with the following remark: “To all you Liverpool Scouse scum, take a real look at your team. Stop living in the past. The team are crap. Never should have left Fulham.” No apology from Paul or his mum followed.

Yikes. I can’t help but wonder if she was right about one thing however. Should Konchesky have left Fulham? Would he be better suited at a mid-table team? Can he handle the pressure of playing for a club like Liverpool; a club that practically demands success?

I don’t mean any disrespect to Paul and I was a great admirer of his abilities whilst he sported a Fulham shirt, but it appears that if he harbours any hope of resurrecting his career it would be best for him to move clubs.

I don’t mean that Konchesky should seek out a loan move (his time with Nottingham Forrest could hardly be regarded as a complete success after all). Rather, I think it’s time that Konchesky sought out a move to another club, likely a mid-table club who could offer him regular football. There’d also be no shame in stepping down a League and joining a club like Leeds or Southampton who are pushing for a place in the Premier League.

I wish him all the best for the future, but can he realistically get back to his best form with a club like Liverpool?

Who needs an apology from such a SCUM BAG….YNWA

  • LFC1892 says:

He’s rubbish, so hopefully he’ll do everyone a favour and leave. As for this mother, well they say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree in which case he’s a right c… too!!!

I’m sure the club will try to off load him if they can. If they can’t sell him, then a loan that pays for a good percentage of his wages.

If they can’t reduce his cost or sell him, they might do what they did with Jovanovic and try to cut their losses with a mutual termination.

It amuses me how she refers to Liverpool as scouse scum. Very generalised considering we have a world-wide fan base. I am not scouse, but I think it is a demeaning and he should have been left to rot in the reserves. Why attack scousers??

  • Thomas Wright says:

Sorry any Liverpool fan could have told you that both hodge and konk were no good for Liverpool before they joined. I thought it was a joke when I heard about the club getting them onboard!

shouldn’t really blame him for what his mum wrote. Also anyone in his position would have jumped at the chance to move to liverpool. I just don’t agree in all the nastiness towards player like him, poulsen, cole etc. Anyone would do the same in their position. Yes sell them if they don’t fit it but why supporters hold so much resentment and blame. We need to support them as much as possible and then if its not working out over a season time to move on…look at Lucas all the shit he took…not good and thats not what make the team better. If you critise too much people loose confidence…FACT!

Absolutely perfect analysis! Couldn’t have said it better myself. I always think – if he were my boy, I would be devastated at the abuse he has to take. I guess in some ways, his mother’s protective instincts came out, hence the FB message.

Whilst I am a great believer in public opinion and stakeholder feedback it is clearly obvious that Mrs K has some form of memory problem as she obviously forgets it is the scouse scum whom pay her sons wages and probably keep her in the lifestyle she has obviously grown rather accustomed too. Fulham are a good mid-table team and Paul was not able to step up and make the grade. Sorry but i feel abusive racist comments such as Mrs K’s outburst should be kept out of not just sport but media too.

    Very diplomatic post.

I reckon she must read the News of the World and the S*n with such an eloquent turn of phrase. Paul must be so proud.

The article gives an opinion as to why its in the player’s best interest to leave but not the football club’s reason; the title of the article is: Why it’s best for everyone involved that this man leaves Liverpool.

It’s amazing how everyone comes on the web and spouts angry bile. And it is usually by people who know next to nothing and base their angry opinions on the tiny bit they think they know.

PK’s mum was getting a ton of abuse off so called Liverpool supporters on Facebook, and while I expect that very few of them were actually scousers, I can sympathies with the woman who was enduring abuse about her son being shite. We are LFC and all you out of town/country glory hunters don’t comprehend that we don’t say such negative things about any of our own players. It’s not right for everyone if PK leaves, it’s just right for you and your narrow-minded opinion.
