The ONE key difference between Arsenal and United

|

Written by Daniel Blazer for FootballFancast.com: Arsenal, with every fixture that passes, look more and more likely to finish a seventh season without a trophy. Arsene Wenger has given the Arsenal fans the Double Winners and the Invincible side, so six years without a trophy has left the Gunners’ following a very frustrated and confused bunch. Especially when they look at their ‘Top Four’ rivals, who have all been winning some of football’s greatest accolades; what is the difference between Arsenal and the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea that gives them that winning mentality?

When you look at Manchester United they have Nemanja Vidic, Chelsea have John Terry and Liverpool have Steven Gerrard, all players that have a real desire and passion for winning and doing well for the club and fans alike. It has always been argued that Arsenal have never replaced Tony Adams , Patrick Vieira and other such born leaders and inspirational characters on the field; these are the type of players that have the composure to lead Arsenal to a second leg victory against Barcelona at the Nou Camp, or to maintain a 4-0 lead away at Newcastle. Arsene Wenger needs a stereotypical captain.

Having a winning mentality is key in any success and there is no denying that Cesc Fabregas , Robin Van Persie and Samir Nasri are unbelievable talents, but when a season draws to a close, you can bet that the Arsenal of recent years would have promised so much only to falter by the wayside when the pressure increased. Is this simply because the players don’t care or want success enough?

I don’t think the problem is that Arsenal players don’t care, as when you see a player such as Jack Wilshere giving 110% week in, week out, to help the team’s cause it is obvious that succeeding matters to them. The problem for the North London outfit is that they choke at the final hurdle so often and there is a real danger that the Arsenal ‘future’ we have been awaiting for nearly a decade is here and the Gunners aren’t taking advantage of this.

The most prominent difference between Arsenal and the other big clubs: a lack of leadership on the pitch. When the going gets tough, Arsenal need someone to get them going.

How can you say that Arsenal are likely to finish a seventh season without a trophy? You have no idea who they will buy in the summer and who might leave. They could go into their seventh season since the 2005 FA Cup win with 5 new world class players. it is a bit premature to write off next season already!

Fully agree with the article. The main difference between Arsenal and other teams is in Koemans words Arsenal overplay. It’s pass after pass.
Failure to shoot and holdon to a 4 goal lead is criminal. It has happened and will happen again.
Wenger must know his free flowing soccer can be neutralised but doesn’t seem to bother. He seems to think his philosophy on the pitch will be rewarded
I have my doubts. So have at least 51% gunner fans.

aj, more so, this 6th season hasn’t ended. The writer needs to learn to count I guess. This represents an aspect of the misinformation that goes round with all things Arsenal.

Money is the only diff.& yes we will finish 2nd / 3rd

The Bear is an Arsenal supporter, and will never support another team anywhere. However, I have to agree with all right thinking individuals: For my team to win this season, we have to rely on other teams to do the job for us. Arsenal is not ready! What the lads could do for us fans however, is finish the season off stronger, and better than they have over the past 5 seasons. By playing their best football, being fully relaxed and working as a team.

Let us see the best of Arsenal! Make us dance again, by sending us home after every game with much joy. Will you?
