Liverpool could mount a late bid to hi-jack Julian Draxler’s move to Paris St Germain.

According to a report in the Liverpool Echo Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of the Wolfsburg midfielder who is for sale next month.

News that Wolfsborg had lost patience with trying to keep Draxler was quickly followed up by a £34m offer from PSG.

Draxler is thought to prefer a move to England but Arsenal have been slow to follow up their initial interest with their attention turned to retaining Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

Klopp knows all about Draxler from his time in charge of Dortmund and feels that he would adapt quickly to the way Liverpool play.

The Anfield side were loathe to go above £25m for the 21-year-old with PSG’s £34m evaluation way above Klopp’s valuation.

Rather than get drawn into an auction for Draxler Liverpool would rather switch their attention to other targets.
