He’s currently trying to cut his teeth in Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham first team but young midfielder Josh Onomah has been in talks to switch his international allegiance, report Owngoalnigeria.com.

The 19-year-old was born in nearby Enfield but boasting Nigerian heritage, Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick is hoping he is persuaded to join up with the Super Eagles.

In quotes from Pinnick, the NFF chief claimed: “Aside Tammy Abraham, Josh Onomah of Tottenham Hotspur is high on our list as well, already we are in talks with his parent, so far we having positive response but we have to take it one step at a time.”

Having earned his first call up to the England Under-21 side recently, Onomah scored in the young Three Lions’ 5-0 rout of Bosnia Herzegovina in midweek.

Also of Nigerian heritage, Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham – currently on loan at Bristol City – is another player Pinnick has targeted to switch allegiance.

Not only him but also AFC Bournemouth’s club record signing Jordon Ibe as well as Chelsea youngster Ola Aina, according to the report.
