According to The Daily Mail, Jose Mourinho will sell Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini if he’s appointed Manchester United manager; whilst London Evening Standard report that Jiangsu Suning have stepped up their efforts to sign Chelsea loan flop Radamel Falcao.

Mourinho has been linked with the Old Trafford hot seat ever since he was sacked by Chelsea in December and reports earlier this week claimed his appointment is now a ‘done deal‘. According to The Mail, one of the Special One’s first acts as United boss will be to axe winger Juan Mata and underperforming midfielder Marouane Fellaini.

Despite claiming the Player of the Year award at Stamford Bridge in 2013, Mourinho sold the Spain international to the Red Devils just six months later, during the second transfer window of his second spell as Chelsea boss. Fellaini, meanwhile, was linked with a move to Serie A in January and seems to be on his way out of Old Trafford anyway, having failed to hit the heights expected since arriving from Everton in summer 2013.

Meanwhile, London Evening Standard report that Chinese Super League outfit Jiangsu Suning are ‘stepping up’ their efforts to sign Chelsea striker Radamel Falcao, who has scored just once across all competitions since moving to Stamford Bridge on loan last summer.

The Colombian international has spent much of the season sidelined with a thigh injury and the west Londoners are keen to get the £135k per-week earner off their books by ending his loan spell early. A deadline day attempt to re-sign for former club Atletico Madrid fell through but Jiangsu represent a potential get-out, with the Chinese transfer window still open until February 26th.

The Super League outfit were linked with Falcao last month and LES claim they’re now ‘stepping up’ their interest in the 30-year-old. Chelsea have good relations with Jiangsu, managed by former defender Dan Petrescu, after selling midfielder Ramires to them in a £25million deal during the January transfer window. Likewise, Monaco are prepared to sanction another loan as long as Jiangsu pay his wages in full, but the Chinese club could push to sign him outright instead.
