According to reports from Manchester Evening News this morning, Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has revealed his admiration for Manchester United target Sergio Ramos.
The 2010 World Cup winner’s future at the Bernabeu is shrouded in serious doubt following allegations from Barcelona presidential candidate Jordi Majo last month; who claims he was recently offered Ramos as an ‘electoral asset’ for the club’s ballot on July 18th – as reported by Goal.com.
It’s believed to have been a ploy to secure the Spain international a better contract in Madrid but has now lead to a series of bids from Manchester United and interest from their local rivals Manchester City.
And Etihad gaffer Manuel Pellegrini has only added further fuel to recent speculation by name-dropping the 6 foot defender during a recent interview with Chilean publication Mercurio.
When discussing the talent in the Spanish top flight, he said; “Neymar, (Luis) Suarez, (Sergio) Busquets, (Andres) Iniesta and Sergio Ramos are others on a very high level. In Spain are the best teams in the world. But the best is the English league.”
According to reports from Mirror Football yesterday evening, Manchester United could make a £30million bid for Ramos if Real Madrid do the same for in-demand No.1 David De Gea.
It’s believed Los Blancos’ valuation, however, currently stands at £63million.
