According to reports from Manchester Evening News this morning, Manchester City have already opened talks with Bayer Leverkusen winger Karim Bellarabi regarding a summer move to the Etihad.

The 25 year-old has just come to the end of a real breakthrough campaign at the Bayer Arena, grabbing twelve goals and six assists in 33 Bundesliga appearances whilst averaging the most successful dribbles per match – a whopping 4.7 – of any player n Europe’s five leading top flights.

The 25 year-old is also the record holder for the fastest goal in Bundesliga history – both in terms of a single match and a season – netting just nine seconds into the opening game of the 2014/15 campaign against Borussia Dortmund.

That’s attracted plenty of interest from the Premier League. Sky Sports mooted Manchester United as potential suitors back in April, whilst The Metro claimed Arsenal were preparing a ‘significant bid’ a month prior.

Currently, however, the Citizens are in pole position to sign the seven-cap German international, with talks currently ongoing according to MEN. They also claim the potential deal with be worth around £25million.
