ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United’s Maxwel Cornet will have to undergo some scans amid concerns over his fitness.
In the Premier League this weekend, the Hammers claimed a 2-0 win over Wolves, but unfortunately, the winger had to leave the game in the first half after picking up some sort of calf injury.
As a consequence, West Ham supporters will no doubt be anxious to hear the latest updates on Cornet, and it seems as though a clear prognosis will be delivered soon.
Indeed, while speaking on The West Ham Way podcast, Ex stated that the 26-year-old had been due to undergo scans on Monday, and although Ex personally feels it doesn’t seem too serious, he cast doubt over the Ivorian’s inclusion in the Hammers’ upcoming Europa Conference League tie.
He explained: “Obviously he went off during the game on Saturday with a calf injury. Now, the club are doing scans on that calf injury today [Monday]. He did return to the bench quite quickly after he went off, so it didn’t appear to be too serious.
“But he’s just being checked out by the medical team with scans today to ascertain the extent of that injury.
“I mean, I’d probably suggest he won’t play on Thursday, but it’ll be interesting to see whether it goes beyond the Fulham game, but we shall see what the scan says.”
But judging from these latest comments, it looks as if he will likely miss the match in midweek and could even be out of the upcoming game in the Premier League next weekend.
