West Ham United fans had a mixed reaction when seeing Newcastle United’s latest suspension.
Sean Longstaff was sent off against Wolves last Sunday meaning he’ll miss the trip to the London Stadium.
Many of the fans were more concerned about his potential replacement Jonjo Shelvey, who according to The Guardian, nearly joined West Ham in the Summer.
Over the last six games between the two sides, it’s the Magpies who have come out on top as Steve Bruce’s side have won four times, whereas the claret and blues have won just twice – as per WhoScored.

Shelvey won’t be easy to play against

Despite winning 67% of the last six meetings, Newcastle have only scored nine goals, which is just one more than West Ham – as per WhoScored.

Shelvey to play then and show us what he can do!

Annoying. I’d rather face him than Shelley. Irrelevant anyway we still won’t win

What Do We Think?
This Jonjo Shelvey fear is clearly just speculation, but the majority of the fans seem to be disappointed with the suspension news. Sean Longstaff currently has a rather mediocre WhoScored average rating of just 6.52/10, so perhaps the fans are right about him being easier to face.
