Footage has emerged from West Ham United’s latest defeat which shows Said Benrahma appearing to shake his head at David Moyes as he gives other players instructions.
The Algerian winger was seemingly the star for West Ham at the weekend as his stunning goal put the Hammers ahead at the London Stadium, although his manager seemingly didn’t see it that way, claiming he didn’t do anything else of note during the game.
When Benrahma was subbed off on Sunday afternoon, the decision was greeted with boos from the home crowd as they clearly wanted to see him remain on the pitch – and now it seems like Benrahma knew it was coming.
This is because Benrahma was captured watching on as Moyes gave detailed instructions to West Ham subs just meters away from him and it seems as though he was potentially aware he was about to be hooked.
Does Benrahma deserve to start more often?
Yes!

No!

TIF Thoughts on Moyes and Benrahma’s relationship…
It is a strange situation between Benrahma and Moyes, as the winger puts up great numbers offensively when playing and currently averages 5.71 shot-creating actions per 90 minutes (as per FBref), which is the best in the West Ham squad.
However, he’s only been afforded 46 starts in the Premier League since he joined from Brentford for £20m back in 2020, which would suggest that Moyes and the winger don’t necessarily see eye-to-eye behind the scenes.
The substitution did seem a strange decision at the time, and the Hammers’ failure to see out a victory without Benrahma on the pitch may only add to the pressure Moyes is under given the club’s poor start to the season.
