Harry Kane was named as England captain for the third time for the World Cup qualifier against Slovenia on Thursday – and Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter following the news.
Harry Kane said that he would be “very proud” walking the team out at Wembley, ironically his home stadium for the 2017/18 season.
The news was announced on the official England Twitter page on Wednesday afternoon.
Gareth Southgate has confirmed that @HKane will captain the #ThreeLions for #ENGSVN.

England are on the brink of qualifying for the World Cup, due to be held in Russia next summer.
A single point might be enough from their final two group games, but victory against Slovenia will confirm it.
Harry Kane, as captain, will be hoping to fire his country into the World Cup finals after scoring 13 goals for club and country in September, including a brace against Malta.
Tottenham fans are delighted for their star striker, although one was annoyed as he’d have to watch the match now and another joked his career wouldn’t survive it.

Rightly so too. Henderson isn't good enough to be in the squad let alone be captain…
