This week Rangers announced that Jake Hastie would be making a return to the club after being recalled from his loan spell at Rotherham United. The recall was a mutual decision made by both teams after scoring three goals in 16 appearances for the side. The 20-year-old comes into Steven Gerrard’s side as an extra body in the right-wing position.
It is unknown whether Gerrard sees Hastie as a potential starter on the right, or whether he is coming to occasionally rotate into the squad. When the news broke on Twitter, many fans reacted. There were a few who were thrilled to see him return. They are happy to see the club add a player to their roster who can make an impact from the right side.

Others think he should be included in the squad right away. They would like to see him given some minutes against Ross County.
Get him in the squad tomorrw and give him some minutes. See what he can do.

Do you think Hastie will become an important player for Gerrard?
Yes
No
But while many fans are excited by Hastie’s return, there are a few who don’t think his return is the right decision. It’s not that they don’t want him back, it’s just that they think the club has bigger problems to fix.
Jake Hastie coming back better not be our master plan

Not sure the excitement from some on here and especially don’t understand folk wanting him in the squad.
The boy couldn’t get a game for Rotherham.
I’m not saying he will never not be good enough but he’s certainly miles off being good enough just now.

What do we think?
Hopefully, Hastie can come into Gerrard’s squad and make an impact. At the age of 20, he has a few years to go before he will truly be judged by the Rangers fans. If he can get off the mark running right away, they will call his recall a genius move.
