Predators move in for Alese

|

West Ham have a battle on their hands to hold on to teenage defender Ajibola Alese.

According to a report in The Sun the 16-year-old is wanted by both Liverpool and Manchester City.

Alese has still to sign a professional contract which leaves him open to a big money deal from elsewhere with West Ham picking up a development fee for a current internationalist.

Slaven Bilic is aware of the situation and has got involved in a bid to keep the defender in London.

Liverpool and Manchester City are both spending extensively on their Academy set ups and are prepared to spend big to bring in the top prospects at home and abroad.

In January West Ham announced the signing of 18-year-old Nathan Holland from Everton but in the increasingly competitive youth market it seems that clubs will just have to get used to players coming and going with little protection offered.
