These Newcastle United fans discuss the removal of Sports Direct branding at Steve Bruce’s press conference.
Lee Ryder shared an article from Chronicle Live with the thumbnail image showing no Sports Direct branding at Steve Bruce’s press conference. The normal Sports Direct logos were replaced with branding from clothing brand Barbour. Ryder was relaying the news to these Newcastle fans via Twitter.
The vast majority of them were pleased to see the branding had been changed. However, some also thought this could be the start of a surprise takeover.

Is this the start of a Newcastle United takeover?
Yes

No

These fans are getting very excited after seeing this, however, Sports Direct announced it would be renamed Frasers Group as part of rebrand exercise, so this could just be something to do with that.
? well that confirms the takeover then ??

What Do We Think?
We feel this is most likely just part of Mike Ashley’s Sports Direct rebrand exercise, as surely if a takeover was in full flow then everyone would know about it. Seems to us like the fans just got a little bit excited, wishful thinking maybe?
