On Friday, Newcastle United tweeted Jonas Gutierrez’s goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers, which allowed fans to reminisce over the special moment.
Gutierrez made 154 Premier League appearances, scoring seven goals and assisting 11 times [Premier League].
The 36-year-old won his battle with testicular cancer, which along with being a loyal servant to the Magpies, is another reason fans hold him so close to their hearts.
A moment of magic from @elgalgojonas!
Jonás Gutiérrez scored this wonderful solo effort as Newcastle United defeated @Wolves back in October 2011.

What Do We Think?
It’s always nice when clubs let their fans reminisce about old times, maybe a little insensitive given the context, but at least most of the fans received the tweet in good spirits.
There’s no doubt that Gutierrez will forever be held in high regard, let alone as a Newcastle legend, mainly for his fantastic footballing ability but also for his bravery on and off the pitch, as defeating cancer and discrimination can be considered to be two mammoth accolades in their own right.
Despite being 36 years old, Gutierrez continues to play for Club Atletico Banfield, and we wish him the best of luck at his current club.
