Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer took to Twitter to praise Jamaal Lascelles’ header against Wolves.
The legendary figure, who scored 260 Premier League goals in his footballing career, was quick to jump on Twitter to celebrate and praise the Englishman’s opening goal of the match.
The goal was the centre-backs first of the season and wasn’t the only standout stat, he also managed a staggering 91% pass success rate [WhoScored].

As one of the best headers of the ball, in my opinion, I bet you are proud of how Lascelles attacked that ball. #NUFC #NEWWOL

Lascelles has started all 10 of Newcastle’s Premier League matches so far this season, however the 25-year-old defender has picked up just one yellow card across all games [WhoScored].
He learned that one from the master

What Do We Think?
By being praised by a club legend and scoring his first goal of the season, this surely has to be one of Lascelles’ better days. Although, admittedly, dropping two points by the end of the match may have taken the glory out of it a little bit.
WhoScored rated the Englishman 7.3/10 and he also, rather alarmingly, managed to have more shots than striker Joelinton as the defender struck with two whereas the Brazilian hit only one.
