A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to a report in the Sunday People (19/1; page 49, 2020), which claims the Toon have had an approach for Leicester City’s Hamza Choudhury rejected.
The Magpies supposedly asked to take the 22-year-old on loan, but with Wilfried Nididi currently injured, the Foxes rejected the approach.
Who would be better for Newcastle?
Choudhury

Bentaleb

Many Newcastle fans responded to this news, and they thought that Choudhury would be a good signing.
The Sunday People are reporting today that #lcfc have rebuffed a loan enquiry from from #nufc for midfielder Hamza Choudhury.
Would add an interesting dressing room dynamic IF (and big if) true ?

Would be a great signing take aside the bad blood. Shelvey needs to go and this lad would add a lot to our midfield.

That aside he’s a good player who would add a lot to our midfield. The dynamic would be interesting especially with ritchie, would be an interesting move…

Other Toon fans, though, either don’t want Choudhury or don’t think the club could get him.
He’s a good player under used by leicester would be a good addition but wont happen cos he will want paying

Just to let Ritchie snap him in the first training session, then send him back to Leicester.

Ritchie would kill him, and rightly so

Top top player he wouldn’t dare want to come play here , unfortunately
— Mark Vasey (@Delvaseyo) January 19, 2020
No thanks, he’s a liability.

What do we think?
Choudhury, who is valued at £9m by Transfermarkt, is a controversial player on Tyneside after one of his tackles ruled Matt Ritchie out for four months.
The 22-year-old then scored for Leicester on Tyneside if he were to move to Newcastle it would be interesting to see what his reception would be.
However, it looks like the Toon have moved on from Choudhury and have instead gone for Nabil Bentaleb with the former Spurs man currently on Tyneside undergoing a medical with the deal expected to be announced imminently.
