A lot of Newcastle United fans have reacted to Luke Edwards’ update on Jarrod Bowen with his price tag being a hot topic.
Edwards claims that the Toon and Hull City have reached an impasse over the transfer of Bowen from Humberside to Tyneside, with Hull wanting £22 million.
What should Newcastle do with Bowen?
Pay Hull's asking price

Continue to negotiate

The Magpies are said to be unimpressed at Bowen’s valuation but remain hopeful of signing the 23-year-old.
This has received a mixed reaction from many Toon fans, with some thinking the club should just pay the fee.
Newcastle United reach impasse with Hull over fee for Jarrod Bowen https://t.co/coMWrtBmrD via @telefootball I know we have heard this sort of thing before but I’m not sure he’s worth £22m. Still chance it’s could happen but not at that price #nufc

£12m is ridiculous. He’s scored 52 goals from the wing in 3 years. That was the price for an up and coming player 10-12 years ago – ie that’s what we received for james Milner in 2008

100% is worth it what i have seen in this ridiculous market would fetch double that in 2 years for fat greedy mike

Won’t pay the going rate for a domestic player used to the leagues but blindly pay £40 million for a striker who’s not a striker

He’s not worth over 10m with a few months left on his contract

If Joelinton was worth 40 million then this lad is definitely worth 21. The kids on fire and will be a fabulous addition to the club. ??

Quell surprise. This lad looks top draw will be worth 35 with one half decent prem season.

Totally agree he’s not worth £22m. Especially as his contract is out in the summer. I’d pay half.

This transfer will still happen imo. By this time next year, Hull won’t get more than 12m for him with 6 months left on his contract. If he doesn’t sign a new contract, NUFC or any other team hold the upper hand, unless Hull are happy to lose him for free.

22 million for a player with 5 months left on his contract behave, they will just be playing hard ball.

What do we think?
The report states that Newcastle have offered £12m plus performance-related add-ons, but the Tigers are refusing to budge on their valuation.
Steve Bruce has identified Bowen as his top target for this window and would love to add the 16-goal winger to his side.
Newcastle still have time to negotiate for Bowen, but at the moment, it looks like the 23-year-old will not be moving to the Toon.
