Paul Mansell from the Always Wolves podcast has been speaking about Morgan Gibbs-White’s future.
Wolves have been one of the quieter clubs this transfer window only just recently making their first breakthrough which saw them splash out £20.5 million on recently relegated Nathan Collins, although they have had to fend off interest in their own players such as Gibbs-White.
The young English attacker had a storming season in the Championship last season registering 20 goal involvements but with just two years left on his contract, Everton have sensed an opportunity and launched an initial £25 million bid, which was swiftly rejected.
Mansell, who was speaking on the All Together Now podcast about Gibbs-White, has claimed that despite Everton’s interest, Wolves do still wish to keep their youngster.
(6:35) “I’m not sure that they’re willing to let him go really, I think the noise coming from Wolverhampton is that we almost want to use him as a central part of our team next season.
Should Wolves sell Gibbs-White?
Yes!

No!

“I know that Bruno Lage has talked in the past about wanting to play four at the back, which would probably play into Gibbs-White’s hands a bit more and using a trio of Neto, Podence and Gibbs-White off Jimenez and so, I don’t think they’re actively looking to sell him.”
TIF Thoughts on Gibbs-White’s future…
Despite knocking back a £25 million bid for someone with just 10 Premier League starts under his belt, Wolves are reportedly still in talks with Everton over the possible sale of Gibbs-White, which wouldn’t be a good advert for Wolves’ other young players who will see a fellow academy graduate being shipped off without getting a proper chance.
It would be a major blow for Wolves if they were to lose Gibbs-White due to his contractual situation which has seen the two parties at a stand-off for some time now, but they may well take a risk this season and let him enter his final 12 months this time next year, in the hope that first team football could convince him to sign a new deal.
Wouldn’t be a good advert for other youngsters at the club? Despite ten academy players going on pre season to Spain the rest of the first team squad, REALLY!
