According to reports from Mirror Football, Manchester United are preparing a £60million transfer bid for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Similar claims regarding an Old Trafford swoop for the Gabon international, who has scored 30 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions this season, were made by The Daily Mail last week.
Arsenal are known long-term admirers of the 27-year-old and were linked with his services frequently throughout the January transfer window. But according to Mirror Football, the north London outfit were ‘scared off by Dortmund’s demands’ and an Emirates switch failed to materialise.

Manchester United, however, are prepared to stump up the funds necessary to land the 6 foot 2 forward, who has emerged as one of the most potent goal scorers in Europe since signing from St. Etienne in summer 2013 – going on to produce 71 goals in 121 outings.
Indeed, the Red Devils are reportedly preparing a £60million bid, which would not only set a new record transfer fee for the Old Trafford outfit but also the Premier League. United have scored the fewest goals of any side in the Premier League’s top eight this season and are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements.
Aubameyang, however, has often expressed a desire to move to La Liga over the English top flight, recently telling reporters; “One day I’ll leave to play in another league. My dream is to play in Spain. After that contract [expiring in 2020] I have this dream to play in Spain. I hope that will happen but when? I don’t know. Lots of people think that the Premier League would good for me but my mum is Spanish and I really have that dream to play over there.”
