Caleb Ekuban could be sidelined until March in a shattering blow for Leeds United, according to a reliable journalist.
Yorkshire Evening Post correspondent Phil Hay reported on his personal Twitter account that the striker left Loftus Road on Saturday evening on crutches and wearing a protective boot after limping off in the first half of his side’s 3-1 Championship triumph.
Ekuban is set to undergo scans on his foot but Hay reported that manager Thomas Christiansen privately fears he has suffered a repeat of the foot injury that sidelined him for three months earlier this season.
Bad news for Ekuban – on crutches and in a protective boot. Christiansen fears it’s the same injury. #lufc

Ekuban suffered a fractured metatarsal in Leeds’ win against Sunderland on 19 August and did not play again until he returned as a substitute in the 2-1 triumph against Middlesbrough on 19 November.
OPINION
If, as Christiansen fears, Ekuban has fractured another bone in his foot, that will be a cruel blow for the player and for Leeds. The Ghanian striker has been central to the team’s recent revival with his power, pace and mobility proving a real handful for defenders even if does not have the goals to show for his efforts. Another serious foot injury would sideline the popular 23-year-old for around three months and keep him out for a major chunk of the season at a time when he was becoming a key player in the side.
