Alessandro Del Piero backed Juventus to beat Tottenham at Wembley and shared that he didn’t think Spurs would win the Champions League even if they defeated the Italian giants.
The World Cup winner, who made 706 appearances for Juventus, revealed that his former side would be disappointed to be eliminated by Spurs, as Maurico Pochettino’s team won’t win the tournament.
“I believe Juve can replicate the first 10 minutes of the opening leg,” said Del Piero on Sky Sports Italia, as quoted by Calcio Mercato.
“Wembley is a fantastic stadium the atmosphere will be crazy, Juventus must be light hearted and be without mercy, like they did at the beginning of the first game.
“I think they didn’t expect such a strong comeback by Tottenham but Juventus can win in London.
“It will be disappointing for Juve to be eliminated by Tottenham, a team that will not win the Champions League, that’s one of the reasons why I think Juve will qualify.”
Spurs are set to host Juventus at Wembley on March 7 in the second leg of their Champions League clash.
Pochettino’s side go into that game with the advantage, as they have two away goals to their name, after earning a 2-2 draw in the first leg.

It’s no surprise that Del Piero has predicted Juventus to beat Spurs in the second leg of their Champions League fixture, given his connection with the club. However, it’s interesting that he doesn’t believe Spurs have what it takes to win the tournament this season. While it’s true there are several big sides left in the competition, after impressing in the group stages, it wouldn’t be that much of a shock if Pochettino led his side to glory. Spurs have a team filled with players capable of winning the tournament and if they hear these comments, will no doubt be even more motivate to lift the Champions League.
