David Moyes will naturally be keen to hit the ground running at Manchester United. After all, nothing less than success is suitable for the United faithful. If the new man can’t produce the goods, he may well be sent packing.
As such, the signings that David Moyes makes this summer are his opportunities to secure his long-term future with the club. If he gets them right and the players he brings in lead United to success, he’ll be smothered in plaudits. If he gets them wrong, well… I’m not sure he’ll be afforded the same level of patience that Sir Alex was when he first arrived at Old Trafford.
There’s been a lot of speculation as to who David Moyes will bring in this summer. Most papers have been linking him to his former Everton charges. CaughtOffside, on the other hand, has gone all in and linked Manchester United to Player of the Year, Gareth Bale.
The award winning Welsh wizard has dazzled this season, but he’ll still probably feel that this year has been a disappointment. After all, Spurs’ North London rivals have pipped them to the post once more and secured Champions League football in their stead. It’s an all-too common reality for Tottenham and Bale.
But surely a player of his calibre should be playing in the Champions League? Surely he should be cutting his teeth against Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, not FC Basel and Rubin Kazan?
I’m sure Spurs fans wont feel this way. He’s their main man and the sole reason they stayed in the top four race for so long this year. But perhaps it’s time for the club to get real: if you can’t earn Champions League football each year, you won’t keep hold of your best players.
Of course, United would have to break the bank to sign Bale. A £60m move has been mooted, but this may not be enough to tempt Spurs to sell.
Should Moyes come up with the goods however, he’ll put Manchester United in a fantastic position to defend their title next season. After all, if you combine the Premier League’s best team with the Premier League’s best player, you’re probably on to a winner.
This move will likely never happen, but if it did, David Moyes’ future would more-or-less be secured.
What’s your take? Can Manchester United afford to pursue Tottenham’s number one man?

He has to be brought to united! Coz city and chelsea are going to spend big this summer! We also need a physical presence in midfield like wanyama!
Bale will be a good addition but midfield is the major area that need to be strengthen.Next season is going to be very for man united therefore the need to be fortified if they are to retained the cup.The midfield not to be work on.
You plastic brain dead morons.get a life and support your local clubs.you plastic morons.
your comments there just sum YOU up ! “brain dead and moron”, you obviously wasn’t blessed with much grey matter in the tiny space left in your head ! ! most people have a thing called a brain.
Man United should go for bale whatever it takes for them to retain the trophy next season.
Of course bale is the right player, give Spurs Nani and 50million
that type of player we needed in manu pls…..
My take? Bale would be a fool to come to play under Moyes, the Mr Average at best. Besides, Utd don’t have the money. Moyes could do well if he gets Fellaini, Benteke and perhaps a good defender or 2. And oh, if he can’t keep Rooney, he’s doomed from the start. And I forgot: he must get rid of the likes of Welbeck, Cleverley, Evans, Young if he hopes to be among the top in Europe. Right now, Utd are far behind Dortmund, Real . Never mind Bayern, Barca et el. SAF’s legacy.
Your a fucking idiot who has no clue about man utd. So keep your stupid opinions to yourself, you clearly are a spurs fans who is upset that your about to lose your best an only good player in bale !!
And who told u Man United don’t have money? No player is too expensive for united to buy. But united is not just an ordinary club, it is a business and a “successful conglumerate” ok.. United don’t spend foolishly for immediate result… Learn from manchester city and real madrid d consequences of spending foolishly … Man united builds a team not buying a team.. Cheers..!
Again I feel we don’t even know our facts as football fans… Have u even bothered urself to read ab out clubs to see which is the richest club in the world?? SHAME.. Untill just 2weeks ago Man United was d richest club in the world for over ten years and will again overtake real to go first position again @ d end of the stock review next month (june)… U must learn to read and know ur facts … Cheers and Enjoy…. Man United For Ever..!
Of course bale must be a united player
Moyes shuld bring home bale, marco rues.or bale strootman and fabrigas.if he wnts to do well in europe not just epl.up united.united till i die
Young is a squad player that could be used in swap deal for bale, Anderson has to go, Nani has to go and Valencia might need to go. If it was me I would get rid of all four. But in real life clubs like united like continuity so whole sale changes do not happen regulary.
But how much would we get for young, anderson, valencia and nani? plus our transfer budget we could get someone like Bale, Barkley and Shaw, then there may be enough to attract Rodrigez and fabrigaz. But we are not chelsea or city and these changes dont seem to happen quick enough for united.
Rooney may go, not bothered now as i think he disrespects the club and the fans with his demands, but if he goes we need Levendowski to replace him.
We have a great keeper, 3 left backs, 5 central defenders, 1 right back. so maybe we need someone there
Our midfield is confusing. Young – rubbish, carrick – good, cleverly – ok, Anderson – rubbish, giggs – old, valencia – rubbish, fletcher – never there, nani – rubbish, kagawa – not sure, which is no way good enough to win the european cup. Look at the midfield of bayen, barca, madrid and ours is terrible.
But what if it were bale, barkely, carrick, zaha, rodregez, fabregas, cleverly – not perfect but better?
well with the money to buy bale utd can buy strootman, alcantara and james rodriguez, i thnk nuying bale for £60m is a bad idea
Except Rodriguez signed for Monaco this morning…
well i think some players need to go if we want to inprove. I think young, vallencia,Anderson,Well beck, and giggs have to go…. And if Roony want go he shuldnt be stoped let him live. We need another top striker like Lewandoski, Fellani, a defender and modric or bale and we can retain our cup nxt season. And Evra shuld giv Buttner chance to excel and Nani shuld b givn more time instead of dat to right leged man valencia. And Kagawa shuld be play even more often. Then we wuld be champion ever. United 4 ever and ever Amen..
manchester united need gareth bale and a very good mildfielder to make them retain their title next season because chelsea and manchester city will be very much prepared for them next season
man utd indeed needs a player like bale,if moyes can get him dat ll b fine, atlas we also nid a gud midfielder 2 make d team a complete 1.
Up man utd my opinion is dat inted of Bale let utd go 4 Ronaldo i prefer Ronaldo dan Bale utd we stand 4ever
caught offside is not really reliable…very poor track record
