Aston Villa fans have been reacting on Twitter to the latest update surrounding a potential Villa Park exit for James Chester.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @villareport shared a post on their page relaying news originally shared by Gregg Evans that Championship side Stoke City are “confident” about signing Chester on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Should Villa keep hold of James Chester this month?
Yes, we will need him

No, let him leave

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were eager to share their thoughts on this latest development.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans discussing Chester’s latest transfer update:
He deserves to play regular football but the day he leaves villa will be a sad day for us all

Will be sad to see Chester go he has been a great servant to the club!

I love chzzie but it’s a win for both parties. As long it’s a loan with no clause to buy him in happy he needs games to get game fitness back

The 31-year-old has only made five appearances for Dean Smith’s side in all competitions so far this season (per Transfermarkt). Now that news has emerged that Chester could be on his way out of the club until the end of the season, numerous Villa fans have been making their thoughts on the move known on Twitter.
I like Chester, been a good man for villa but if villa allowing him to go on loan, I reckon we have someone else coming

We Might see Engels now ?

We need him as back up. Give them Engels as Smith clearly doesn’t rate him.

What do we think?
Looking at his appearance record so far this season, it’s clear that Chester is out of favour with Smith and not likely to gain a place in the team on a regular basis. If Stoke do manage to take Chester away from Villa this month and are able to give him regular playing time until the end of the season, it could well get Chester’s season back on track and maybe push for a place at Villa next season.
