Journalist Andy Brassell has claimed live on Sky Sports that he expects Arsenal transfer target Mykhaylo Mudryk to be a Premier League player by the end of January.
Mudryk has been tearing it up this season with Shakhtar Donetsk both domestically and, perhaps most notably, on the European stage, having registered five goal involvements during the Champions League group stages.
The Ukrainian winger has long been linked with a move to Arsenal, and has even openly talked about his love for the Gunners, so if anyone is going to sign the exciting youngster in January, it seems Mikel Arteta’s side are well-placed.
And Brassell believes that Mudryk will end up in the Premier League next month – but not necessarily with Arsenal.
He said: “He’s very quick, he’s got great game intelligence, he was brilliant in the Champions League this season for Shakhtar – and very, very close to ending up down the road from here at Brentford in the summer.
Will Arsenal sign Mudryk in January?
Yes!

No!

“We talked about Leeds missing their Cody Gakpo window, I think Brentford have definitely missed their Mykhaylo Mudryk window, because playing so well in the Champions League has knocked his price right up.
“There are a few Premier League clubs really interested in him. A difficult deal to piece together and negotiations happening at the moment, but I would expect him to be a Premier League player by the end of January.”
TIF Thoughts on Mudryk…
It has been reported that Mudryk has a £100m price tag on his head, which could certainly put off many clubs – including Arsenal – from making a January move, especially with the Gunners spending over £100m alone in the summer.
However, if Arteta believes Mudryk could be the player that allows them to maintain their title challenge during the second half of the season, Edu and the board may well go all-out and steal a march on other suitors.
Mudryk certainly won’t be an easy signing to make given his price tag, but with his clear admiration for the Gunners, he could indeed try and force a move in January and that may end up seeing Shakhtar reducing their asking price.
