Liverpool have reportedly launched a £23million bid for Shakhtar Donetsk star Alex Teixeira and it’s not hard to see why.
The Brazilian has bagged 26 goals in as many appearances for the Ukrainian outfit this season, including three strikes in the Champions League’s group stages, and offers plenty of firepower from attacking midfield.
The 26-year-old may not be a household name just yet but the vast majority of Shakhtar imports – such as Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Willian – have gone on to find great success in other leagues.
Furthermore, Chelsea were in line to snap up Teixeira before Liverpool’s aforementioned bid, so beating the Blues to his signature would qualify as a real coup.
