Measuring in at a lofty 6 foot 3, Red Star Belgrade midfielder Marko Grujic has been compared to Chelsea star Nemanja Matic in both stature and style.
The 19-year-old first drew attention as Serbia lifted the U20 World Cup during the summer and has since been tracked by a number of top teams from across Europe including Manchester United – whose scouts saw him net a 30-yard pile-driver in last month’s Belgrade derby.
But the towering central midfielder has already confirmed interest from Premier League rivals Chelsea, following a conversation with the aforementioned Matic, whilst Inter Milan assistant manager Dejan Stankovic, conveniently Serbia’s most-capped player of all time, reportedly held a meeting with Grujic earlier this week to try and sway him towards a San Siro move.
If United want to sign the Serbian prodigy, they clearly have a bit of catching up to do.
