Bernd Leno

Linked with an Anfield move in August, Bernd Leno has already emerged as one of the Bundesliga’s stand-out goalkeepers at just 23 years of age.

Indeed, he’s already amassed 188 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen, serving as their undisputed No.1 since the start of the 2011/12 campaign – during which he became the youngest goalkeeper in Champions League history at 19 years and 193 days.

Last term, the former Germany U21 recorded the second-most clean sheets of any goalkeeper in the German top fight, 16, after Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer, and produced an impressive 69 saves in 34 outings.

Despite copious links over the last few years, Leno’s much-anticipated Premier League move has never quite materialised. but Liverpool may find better luck at the end of the season, should 7th-place Bayer miss out on a Champions League spot.
